Help - rhinestones and cell phones

Hi,

I am craft impaired, but am too cheap to pay $84 to get a rhinestone encrusted cell phone cover - I KNOW it's tacky, but I things that sparkle and since my daughter forbids my wearing rhinestones on my clothes, I thought that the cell phone would be perfect.

I have found several sites that sell the crystals, but I'm not sure about what type of adhesive to use since the typical cell phone cover is so slick. I also have no clue how many to buy - I think that the "pros" use 4mm, but how many would I need?

Has anyone ever done this type of thing? Most craft type things that I do end up looking like c**p, but I thought that I'd try again.

I bought my DD a "bling-bling" cell phone kit on eBay for around $20.00. There are different patterns - hers in silver and pink rhinestones and the pink rhinestones form a heart.

They come on a sticky adhesive and she cut and fitted her phone.

They sell ones like that at Walmart (least mine has it) for about 10- I would think thatd be the much safer way to go just on the opps proof and getting it to stick proof thing
