Okay everyone what you reccomend ordering at a Mexican resturant when you have 41 carbs left for the day.

I'm not sure that fajitas without the tortilla would be very filling. Thought about maybe doing nachos - chips are about 17 carbs for 20 chips or 20 carbs for 17 chips - can't remember which.

Maybe I'll just do nachos - any suggestions?

Funny that you mention nachos at Chevy's. On Wednesday night, DSs & I stopped at Chevy's for a meatless meal. (Ash Wednesday for Catholics) I just posted, on another thread, how I miss nachos. I'm following South Beach & it's good carbs, not low carbs. Since corn is really restricted, I have trouble believing that chips are good carbs. I started out fine. Ordered the fish sampler for my main course. But DS(16) asked for meatless nachos grande & I was lost. We didn't finish the whole platter. I tried to focus on the guacamole. But the chips w/ melted cheese just called to me. I probably ate more not-so-good carbs in that meal than I've eaten in any given month for the past year. Didn't sleep well last night, but exercised in the AM & back to salad for lunch today. Hope you enjoy your meal at Chevy's. I wasn't wild about the fish sampler, but the nachos were pretty darn good.

We don't have Chevy's but here are some options that I use at our local mexican restaurant.

I really like their tortilla chips, so I count out 6 chips (total, 15g carbs), and lay them on a napkin so that I don't "forget" how many I've had. When they're gone, I'm done!

For the main course, I usually either get fajitas and eat just the filling w/ no tortillas, or a taco salad and don't eat the shell. With the fajitas, I usually eat the beans (15g carbs) and salad that come as a side. For the taco salad, it comes with beans included which I eat (15g). Our restaurant also has some chicken/beef with veggie options that are basically stir fried. Enjoy!

What did you choose, Amanda?

We don't have a Chevy's here. When we were in Phoenix we found a restaurant that had chili con queso that was just cheese and chilis (no flour). Yummy. We ordered the fajitas hold the toritillas and a side of chili con queso. Very filling :)

Also, refried beans if they are prepared traditionally would be good. Good carbs :)
