Help! Question About Buzz Lightyear Photo Kiosks

Hey, everyone. Can anyone out there answer this for me? I was just at Disneyland and Cal Adv two weeks ago, right before Christmas, and when my friends and I got off the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters ride, we went straight to the kiosks in the exit queue and found our on-ride pictures and e-mailed them to ourselves - something we had learned we could do only recently. As of today, exactly two weeks later, neither my friends nor I has received our photo via email. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? Does anyone know? I had heard that some people have gotten their photos sent to them in two days, so this seems rather long. Could it be taking longer because the weekend we were there was a crazy, ridiculously busy time or does that not have anything to do with it? I know there is no one to call to ask abotu our pictures - we just have to surrender to the fact that if they don't arrive, they are lost forever. But can anyone shed light on this? And who is the 'Sender' of the email? Like, if it ends up in my Spam mail, what Sender should I search for? Disney? Kodak? Buzz Lightyear? Who? Thanks, Sherry

i got mine befor i got back they hsould be there by now. Have you checked junk mail some have said they arived there mine didnt

Well, my friend didn't get hers, either, to my knowledge. I checked my Spam/Junk mail, but I literally get hundreds of junk emails a day if I don't clean it out, so sometimes the 'good' emails get lost in the junk. WHO did it say the sender of the email was? Did it say it was from Disney or Kodak or who? I can at least search for that in my mail.

Sherry,

The sender on mine was "Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters" and the subject was "Galactic Greetings!"

Hope that helps.

The first time I tried to email my picture to myself, it never arrived. I had much better luck this most recent trip, but I don't know that I was ever able to access one of the pictures, now that I am thinking of it. The email arrived but when I would click on the link I would get an error message and be told to try again later.

So, I guess what I am trying to say is that like all technology, sometimes it just fails us.

Thanks, everyone for your feedback! I had a hunch after the first few days post-trip that the pictures would literally be lost in the galaxy somewhere! Even though it was an extremely busy Christmas weekend, it didn't seem reason enough for the pictures to be delayed this long. And I definitely did not see anything that said Galactic Greetings or Buzz Lightyear or anything, so I think technology failed, indeed! Sherry

Hi Sherry! We were there right before Christmas too, the 20th - 23rd. We also did not recieve our Buzz Lightyear picture e-mail.

Major bummer, it was funny!

Vicki

We've done it a few times and always received them within a couple of hours (I check my mail on my iPhone in the park). We have had a couple of instances where our picture wasn't displayed after the ride...

Vicki, you were there the same exact weekend we were, except we were there from the 21-23! Where did you stay? Where did you eat, and when? You never know - it IS a small world (ha ha) and we could have been in the same place at the same time! Isn't that funny? Sherry

We stayed at the Carousel Inn, our first time to stay there.

We ate at the Blue Bayou on Friday at 11:30.

On Saturday we ate at the Cove Bar in DCA, one of our favorite things to do. While we were there, two of the trains were stuck on Screamin, and the poor people were being evacuated! It was interesting to watch, but I felt so sorry for the people, how scary!

On Sunday morning, DH and I had breakfast at Storytellers, a must for every trip!

We had such a wonderful time, hope you did too! It was busy, but not nearly as bad as we had imagined. We were there in October during the Arizona school breaks, and it was just as busy then, and that was in the middel of the week!! :scared1:

Vicki, We might have been in Cal Adv at the same time. On Friday, we ate breakfast early in the morning at Goofy's Kitchen, then into Disneyland. Then, we went to the Wine Country Trattoria in CA in mid afternoon for lunch, and back to DL to the Carnation Cafe for dinner. On Saturday, we ate at Storytellers (missed you by one day!) for breakfast - we stayed at the Grand Californian so it was easiest - then went into Disneyland. Then we ate at Rain Forest Cafe for lunch, went back to CA to ride things (I don't think we were there when the ride broke down, though), then back into Disneyland and back to Carnation for dessert. (Did you see the RIDICULOUS LINE for It's a Small World Holiday on Saturday night? Yikes!) On Sunday, we were going to eat at Naples, but it had not opened yet, so we went BACK to Carnation Cafe for breakfast. Yes, we had a great time. We also went in late September to see the Halloween decorations, and that was fun, but I tell you, there is just something extra extra special about being at Disneyland and the hotels around Christmas. Don't you agree? I am already planning our December 2008 trip because it was so great? I love the cold weather, I love the holiday decorations, the carolers, the lights, the fake snow on Main Street, the food, everything. LOVE IT during the holidays! Sherry

Yeah, I think it has gone to the "Great Photo Shop in the Sky." We play Buzz all the time and usually send the picture to ourselves on the way out. Only about 1 time in 10 does the picture actually show up. I guess it's the shear volume of messages that they send, but most of the time we don't get it.

It could also be the email address you use, but we've noticed no difference in using a Gmail account and a Cox.net one.

Hope you had a great time anyway!

No, it is absolutely free, and it is a feature they do NOT have in WDW. When you get off the ride, you will follow the exit queue along until you see kiosks, and you stand in line and then find your photo and punch in your email address and send it to yourself...but if you have followed this thread and my experience with it as well as some of the other members', you will see it does not always arrive! But it IS free!

We were there Dec 8th-15th too and never received our pics either. I just did a search in by bulk/junk mail for "Buzz" and my emails showed up :) Maybe this will help :)

Did you see a date that they showed up in your Bulk Junk Mail? Was it just recently or a couple of days after your trip? I checked mine and did the search and they never showed up anywhere that I saw. Rats!

Mine showed up the 8th and 9th --the two days we actually rode the ride ---------I hope you find yours :)

No, I have deleted everything from my Bulk mail in the two weeks since I was there, and I checked that folder every day and there was nothing. Also, my friend did not get hers. I think we, like some of the other members on this board, were the unfortunate ones whose pictures got lost in space...literally! If they haven't shown up by now, they won't! Oh well! Thanks for your input.
