Help push me over the fence :)

Lordy, I have to admit all this talk about APs and crowding in the parks is starting make me a paranoid girl about my upcoming December trip.

AHHHHH! I think you guys are talking me into Premium!!! The days I need were not blocked out with Deluxe, but I know we are planning on eating at quite a few PS restaurants during her visit so 15% vs. 10% would help a lot during our three-day trip.

Like I mentioned before that extra 5% discount will add up fast with the dining discount. Especially if you are going to do a lot of PS restaurants. It will make up the difference between the Deluxe and Premium in no time.

Especially if you break it down monthly, I would bet that you could easily make that difference up in a single day with the extra 5%!

Everyone loves to talk about the 850,000 AP holders and get all negative about it, but there are pass holders like us that aren't there all of the time and can't be. Its not like all 850,00 pass holders are conspiring against you, though some posts make it seem that way.

We can basically only go during peak times (blackout dates). We go when we can get time off of work and school (my wife is a teacher). So at least we are only adding to the crowds when its already bad, LOL!

We bought Premium APs because of the above reason and figured we could break even or save money with 2 more short trips (which we probably would have made anyways).

I won't try to hide the fact that now that the passes are in hand we might try to make an extra trip or two, but nothing to cause concern for anyone else, LOL

I wonder how many of those pass holders are like us and either live out of state or just cant get to the parks more than a few times a year and only have the passes because economically it made sense.

I think there are a fair # that would fit into that category. I'm going to take some comfort in the fact that the weekend we are going has blackout days for So. Cal passes.

Either way, I'm not going to let the unwashed masses (Ok, they are probably washed....I hope) ruin our trip. We'll be hitting the parks early due to having tots in tow.

I'm just getting anxious.

I've been when it was outrageously busy (spring break and Thanksgiving) and I've been when I practically owned the park (mid-week late September). I have a blast every time! I'm going the week of Easter this year because that's my little sister's spring break, so I'm really looking forward to this AP, not so that I can go during the busy weeks, but so I can run up there mostly for mid-week, single-day jaunts. I'm a pretty easy-going person, so when it's crowded I just use FP's, take breaks, and smile, oh, and eat chocolate :) :) :)

I was really nervous about our Halloween trip, and honestly it wasn't bad at all. I was shocked how low the crowds were. I've been in May when you can't move and there was only one night like that; and we just went to Toon Town which was dead :)

And add me to the list of people with Annual passes who won't be using it more than once this year. It paid for itself with food discounts :D

That has always been our approach. We go when we have time off or school is out usually, so we don't really know any different crowd wise.

There are just so many other factors especially the logistics of making the trips that crowds aren't ever really a factor into when and if we go.

Knowing we have our APs and if we miss a lot of stuff we just have to plan and save for another trip to catch them is enough security to not worry to much :)

LOL And I thought I was enabling.....LOL

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy that PAP!!! I know that we have GREATLY enjoyed it this year!! And yes, we went in July, (see my sig for dates) and it was less crowded over the weekend when all but the PAP were blocked then it was during the week!! DBF and I have decided that we are not likely to go back to Deluxe APs.....ever.......the free parking also makes it so you can stay slightly farther away (paying less) and park so that saves some $$ too. :) And I LOVE whipping out that AP for discounts, we've saved so much this year just on that alone......

Do PAPs get a better hotel discount?

Do PAPs get a better hotel discount?

No, but the discounts are still really good. I live 8 fast driving hours away and still upgraded to an AP in 2008. The amount that we saved on food, plus the deep discount on the room for our second trip, was really worth the upgrade to APs for 4 people. I'm glad that so many people were able to enable you!

Do PAPs get a better hotel discount?

As CanyonGirl said, no the hotel discounts are not better. But the food discount is better and you do get a merchandise discount in almost every location so it's well worth it to upgrade. Add the free parking and that also helps immensely.

...
That said, $289 + $79 = $368 For an extra $61 you can have no blockout days and larger discounts. I say get a Premium!

How's that for enabling? :goodvibes

You asked for a push. LOL Enjoy!

hehe Happy to spread my Disney addiction any time I can!

How much are the payments on a premium + parking per month? If it's only a few $$ more I would get a PAP. I wish I could go on payments! I'm soo bummed I live in N CA. It's not fair!
The premium includes parking.
