I heard the news that the Pirate and Princess Party is going to be in August. We are going to be at WDW in August, but we were planning on leaving August 10th. Now, we are trying to decide if we should extend our dates, so we can go to the party, or just take our daughters to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

My daughters will be 6 and 5 when we are there. What do you think, party or boutique?

Eek! That's a tough choice, I don't envy you...But I'd say if I had no choice but to chose, I'd go for the P&P Party! Your girls can dress up like princesses without the BBB, and enjoy the fun of more playtime, character sightings, spectacular parade, and beautiful fireworks. The BBB seems just wonderful if you have the time and $$, but between the two there's just more to do at the party. Have a great time!! :cloud9:

I would vote for the BBB.

We did both the BBB and MVMCP when we were there in November. The one that DD 5 talks about wanting to do again is BBB. There is just something extra special about the magic of having your hair done like Cinderella and having pixie dust sprinkled all over you.

I would say, it is more magical than a special party. Frankly, while the parties are magical, to my DD5, it wasn't different enough from MK on a normal day. All of the extra touches for the party were mostly lost on her. She had a great time and loved it, but the BBB is what she talks about the most.

I don't know if that makes sense. But the parties are going to be there year after year. And you only have so long that the magic of the BBB is there for your DDs.

We went to Pirate and Princess Party on March 8th. My daughter isn't old enough (at least to me, she will be 2 this month) to spend that much on BBB. I personally think spending the money for the party was so worth it. I don't know how it will be in August crowd wise but for us it was great. We did a little bit of the treasure hunt which my son loved. Then, we noticed the lines for the rides were so short we started going on rides. I think we went on 7 rides that night along with some of the treasure hunt. The firework show was awesome. We already decided that next year if they have another party (even if it is a different party) we are going but we are going in February or March. We had so much fun and loved the party. My kids were dressed up and thought it was so cool to be dressed up. I wish we could have stayed for the parade which I heard was great but my kids were too pooped by that time.

Thanks for your help! We still haven't made our final decision yet. I'm trying to compare the costs and see which would be most cost effective. I know nothing is really "cost effective" in Disney, but we're going to see which one would hurt us less in the pocket book!

P&P party. You can stop at the Barber Shop and have them sprinkle pixie dust on their hair - free. They can also fix their hair - just won't be as fancy as BBB.
