Is the parks extremely crowded in February on President's Day?

We have never been and that Monday and Tuesday are the only days we have free to visit. We plan to go both days. Which park which day?

Any suggestions would be helpful. We will have a 5-year-old and a 6-year-old and three adults.

We normally just stay in the Disney parks but wanted to venture out a little bit this time. We really don't want to have a disaster time with the parks being over crowded. We are staying at a Disney Resort so no FOTL pass.

just bumping to see if anyone has any suggestions.

I'm going that same week with a 5 and 6 year old! We have those buy one get one free tickets so we get 5 days to spend at the parks. I assume we wouldn't need all 5 days to tour the 2 parks but at least if it gets horribly crowded we could leave and come back another day.

We (me, DH,DS15,DD12) will also be there the same time. We are staying at Disney as well. The ticket thing has me a little confused. Are you still able to purchase the front of the line thingy for $15 extra? If its really crowded it would certainly be worth it. There were some very nice trip reports recently from folks who had younger children. You may want to check those out.

We once went for a Friday-Monday minitrip, unaware then of how important calendar events can be. It was Valentine's Weekend, the Daytona 500 and the weekend before President's Day week. Friday through Sunday were fine, but the crowds were building. We packed our van on Monday morning to go to the park and head out after one last day in the parks. Traffic was backed up terribly on I-4, all getting off the Universal exit. We just creeped on by and headed home (I-4 was clear after Universal).

I'm sure you can still have a great experience, just enter into it with realistic expectations, early park arrival, and a general plan.

Are you all driving? We still have not decided on the best way to get from POR to Universal. I know nothing about US or IOA so can't help with the ticket questions. Hope you all have a great trip.

We were also thinking of doing the days after President's Day, Tues - Friday. Anyone have any experience with crowd levels this week, avoiding the actual President's Day and the weekends? We have 4-day tickets also. Not sure if we are staying on-site yet or not, is it worth the money to have the FOTL pass if the crowds are not too bad? We have been to Disney 10 times, but this is our first visit to Universal. I know Disney will be pretty full the whole week, but do crowds taper off at Universal after Monday?

We are staying at the Contemporary. We are flying in, using DME. I have arranged to rent a car early on Monday morning from the WDW location and drive to Universal from WDW. This was the cheapest option I could find. (I considered taxi, Mears, public bus, and car service). We got a compact for $38.00 per day. I thought about moving to a Universal property but it was twice what we are paying at the CR.

Have a great trip!

We've been told that the week of President's Day is a week-long winter break week in several northern states, hence the crowds that begin building the first weekend and continue until into the next weekend.

We're coming for the week of President's with our friends who have been that week for the past several years. We are staying on site b/c they said it is very busy that week although not as bad as some other weeks. We are from the North and we know several other families coming down as well. Also, not sure I'm up for 5 days at park and this way DH, 5 yo and myself can chill by the pool with our friends while our 5 teens can easily walk back and forth to parks. There is an offer now for free tickets with your room that makes it very worth it.
