Hi! There are 6 of us going to WDW in September. I am looking for matching or coordinating (mickey/minnie) shirts for 2-3 of the days. I have checked at the Disney store and online but can't seem to find anything cute or within my budget (about $5/shirt). Any suggestions? We could probably get away with all adult sizes. Oh, and I don't really want to make them as it was not fun last year and they cracked horribly! Thanks!

There is a board here called the Creative Designs board and they have a lot of really cool designs and instructions to make your own matching shirts. There are even people there who will design a shirt just for your family. You can easily get the shirts for under $5 from michaels or jiffyshirts.com

Since you have a little time, you might be able to watch for sales at the Disney outlet. We got matching t-shirts and matching polos for our first trip for less than $5 a shirt.

I agree. The Creative Designs Boards have some VERY creative designs that can be personalized. The designs are printed out on iron on transfers, then ironed onto the tee shirts that you buy for each of the people in your group.
We had fun doing these together before we went on vacation, then we rcvd MANY comments about them. It was funny, I used an ECV and would be behind my family in the mornings. (It took me a while to unload from the bus). I would send my family on up ahead and on two different occasions, Cast members recognized my shirt as belonging with the rest of the family.
We loved having matching tees, and even the other guests at our resort got used to seeing us wearing our matching shirts.

I'm getting ready for a Disneyland day trip with the people I work with. (Conference) I plan on surprising everyone with our very own matching tees.

Hi everyone! Thanks for the responses! I have made my own shirts (we did this last year) but, as mentioned in the first post, it was not fun for me and they did not last so I do not want to make them again. I will be sure to watch the disney outlet (online right?). Thanks again!

Do you have any tips on how to make these shirts? I have never done it and want them to turn out ok. I have heard people say that theirs have cracked or not washed well. What iron on transfers do you use? TIA

Definitely try Walmart. As it's getting closer to summer they have all kinds of Disney themed adult shirts.

I got some great deals at the online outlet too. I got Minnie t-shirts for 3.99 in March.

I made t-shirts for my trip last Septmeber. The only one that didn't turn out well was the one I made on a ribbed tank-top. Silly me though, I didn't even think about it being ribbed.
Also, I had one disign that was all black and it bled onto a white shirt in the wash.

Honestly I just used the cheapest transfer paper I could find at Micheals. I washed the shirts first and when I printed the disigns I let them 'set' overnight (not sure if that was needed). Then I ironed on the disigns. They looked great and I've washed them since and all but the one still look great. My husband wears the one that bled for pj's now!

I made ours as well. DD's no longer fits so I will be making some more for this year's trip. I did the transfers one year but they only lasted for one washing!!!

Use Avery transfer paper and follow the instruction regarding the iron on time and the paper cooling time. Then make sure other than white you use the dark shirt transfer paper.

I wash any transfers inside out and line dry inside out. One has cracked but the others are doing great.

You might also go to the disboutique on forum on the Family board and see if someone might applique a design for you.

Have a wonderful trip.

Yes, online. I found a bunch of deals before our trip--towels, shirts, pj pals, swim suits, little incredibles plush toys (the kids were into them back then.) I think I got almost 20 items for under $80...I set out something new for the kids each night, they were tickled!
