I know I should do the tech board and I did but not sure how long it takes to answer question.

How do you quote more than one person in a response? I want to respond to 2 different people without having to post twice. Thanks for your help.

I want the answer to this too! :teeth: It's something I have been wondering for awhile but keep forgetting to ask. Watch it be something really simple and obvious that we just skipped over somehow.

Anyways sorry I can't be of help but hopefully someone else will help us poor lost souls! ;)

add me to that list too - I usually end up responding to one then the other but really would like to combine comments.

The positive to not knowing how to do this - it does boost out post count - lol

There really is no "easy" way to do it. What most people do is open new windows of IE (you can do a CTRL/N to open a duplicate of the window you have open) and then do your reply in one of those windows. Just "Quote" the first person in one window, Quote the 2nd in the other and cut the text from one window and paste it in the other so that all the reply is in the same window.

Make sense?

And I'm replying to you again. Let's see if it worked...

Thanks I will try it, sometimes I am just a little challanged. :rotfl2:

Whoo hoo! It worked. Thanks! :sunny: But you're right, that was kind of a pain in the you-know-what. ;)

That's what I was going to say too. I go to the first post I want to quote and hit the quote feature and write my response. Then I cut the whole thing and go to the next post I want to quote and click quote then cut and paste the whole thing together. That's the easiest way I have found.

This is the way I do it....

Like the above poster said, it's better to open a new window first.

For the first quote, click on "Quote" in the bottom right corner of the message you are wanting to quote.

For the 2nd quote, click on the little quote icon above the quote/reply box. It's the icon (picture graphic) that looks like a little box with text in it...much like a cartoon quote (should be the icon on the right). Once you click on the icon, a dialog box will appear (mine's at the top left corner of the screen) prompting you to enter the text of the quote. With the 2nd window open, copy the text you want to quote, then paste this in the user prompt area in the first window. Next, click on OK. Follow these steps for subsequent quotes.

ETA: A lot of times I don't go to a 2nd window. I just scroll down the screen and find the text I want to quote, copy the text and paste it in the quote icon prompt box. This will only work if the text you are wanting to quote is on the same page you are replying on.

Okay this is my test.

Thank you for your help also. Now I will cut and paste and see what happens.

:worship: :worship: Thank you so much, I feel like I've died and gone to computer heaven.

Okay this is another test. I quoted you twice.

Wow escape that was much easier. I did have to copy what I wanted to quote and then past it into the box. I also added the =escape, so that it would show that it was your quote.

Thanks for the tip. Thanks everyone for your help.

Here is another easy way, without multiple windows, etc...

When you click to 'Quote', you will see that the text begins and ends with the codes that look like this

[ QUOTE=username ] text...... [ /QUOTE ]

I just cut and paste the text, and add the quote codes at the beginning and the end. ;)

I had tried that the first time and it didn't work. I must have done something wrong. Thanks everyone.
