I also posted this on trip planning but thought maybe it'd be better over here as we have a young family.

So we're fortunate to be in the area for 2 weeks so we can spread out our days and hopefully not hit a lot of crowds. (this is important as my DH is not a fan) I know I know tragedy!!!

We (me) lol - REALLY wants to start with the magic of MK as it will be my kids 5th birthday.
However Sunday is a non-recommended park day. (Evening EMH and we're not staying onsite) - we arrive on Sat afternoon.

Can you please weigh in on the following:
Would you:

1. Start your MK day on Sunday, if it gets too much leave in the afternoon as Sunday night has EMH. I would just wander and soak up the atmosphere and not really do much else?! See what we might like, pop on a couple of things with shorter lines, than I would then schedule another MK day on Wed when the park is at another low recommended day and do the rides and what we wanted to do. And then we'd have a 3rd MK day the next week.

2. Do Chef Mickey's on Sunday and stay away from the parks until Tuesday when the crowd dies off at MK?! So CM and DTD on Sunday

Keep in mind I have 2 weeks to fit it all in! (no hoppers for us though!)

I need to decide ASAP because I need to make our ADR's ASAP for Chef Mickey's!

Thanks!!

When is your trip? I think that makes a big difference.

The non-recommended park during the off season would likely be fine, but I it's during a busy holiday time it could be crazy.

Personally, we would do MK. Since you arrive Saturday I don't think you will want to wait until Monday to do a park.

I would be sure to get there at rope drop and do or get FPs for the more popular attractions. When it gets busy in the afternoon you can always get ice cream, enjoy the atmosphere, and do some of the less crowded things. Since you will be back another day you don't have the pressure to do everything.

End of Feb the week AFTER president's week so it shouldn't be busy.
Sunday has EMH though and Monday's are apparently busy due to MSEP only running 3 times a week. (Mon/Thurs/Sat)

I would do Mk on that Sunday, in fact, I am!!! Only I'll be there 1 week after (march 2nd). We'll be getting to Disney late Friday night/early Saturday morning. Spending Saturday (after we sleep in) at downtown disney then eating at O'hana's and watching fireworks from the beach (as long as we get the adr) and then starting at ropedrop On Sunday at MK!

We also have 2 other days planned at MK (we'll only be there 10 days though, not 2 weeks).

Have fun!!

I would go ahead and do a day in MK on Sunday. I imagine you'll be able to do lots of attractions. I would try to arrive for rope-drop and do some of the popular things first, like the new attractions in the New Fantasyland.

Have fun!
