HELP! I need new TS ideas at Disney. Its just my son and I. He's 14.

Here's our list, tell me what you think:

Tusker lunch (been to breakfast but never lunch). worth it?

Crystal Palace - breakfast (been to dinner/lunch but never breakfast)

Via Napoli - lunch OOP (never been)

Flying fish - desperate to try this! never been.

Ohana dinner - Never been. Is it good? is Kona better?

Chefs/France - good food?? never been.

I can never make up my mind with ANYTHING, esp ADRs. So any help would be great! :flower3:

My fourteen year old son would trade Crystal Palace something else. If you want to stay close to MK, how about the Wave? or Grand Floridian Cafe.

I would rather have Kona than 'Ohana.

I think Tokyo Dining and Marrakesh are both fun to eat at. If you haven't eaten at Coral Reef it is cool too.

My 14 year old says Chefs de France is his favorite meal at WDW.

Have fun!

Here are my three favorite lunch places on property:

Turf Club Grill (Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa) - One of Disney's hidden gems. Been here a number of times and have never been disappointed. Service is always great, mainly due that the restaurant is never busy. With dark wood and horse racing memorabilia, it's one of the better looking rooms on property. Go for lunch. It's attached to a great lounge as well - you can enjoy a free game of pool pre or post meal.

Wolfgang Pucks Express (Downtown Disney) - Yeah, it's considered quick service. You order and pay from a cashier, find a seat then a server brings your food and takes care of anything extra you need. Meatloaf sandwich is amazing, as are all of there fresh pizzas. Great value for you money, or DDP credit.

Sanaa (Animal Kingdom Lodge)
- Never crowded, great view of the Savannah (at any given time you can view Zebra, Ostritch and giraffe from your table), and the BEST bread anywhere on property.

Crystal Palace - breakfast (been to dinner/lunch but never breakfast) Yes to breakfast.

Via Napoli - lunch OOP (never been) YES YES, leftovers cold are excellent.

Flying fish - desperate to try this! never been. No Mom, I prefer Planet Hollywood.

Ohana dinner - Never been. Is it good? is Kona better? Kona 100%. The only meal I really disliked was Ohana

Chefs/France - good food?? never been. - Um, NO. LeCellier and or Teppan Edo.

I can never make up my mind with ANYTHING, esp ADRs. So any help would be great! :flower3:

Answers in green as per 16yo son! Enjoy your trip.

Via Napoli is a great is one of the better Disney restaurants IMHO.
Ohana is great.
Crystal palace is pretty much std Disney fare, but it's a fun place. Having breakfast there next week.
SciFi Dinner is a fun place. Frankly the food sucks, but it's so cool!!
TRex is fun.

Disney dinning is more fun than it is really good food.

My son wanted a character meal with Mickey surprisingly. Thats why I chose Tusker. Been to breakfast and it was good. Wondering if i should just stick with breakfast or try the lunch? hmmmm.

RE: Flying fish.... my son loves signature restaurants. Its either Flying Fish or Citrico's or narccoossee's. Goodness, im not even close to deciding! Lol.

RE: Kona....another suggestion for Kona. I think this confirms it, Kona it is! Thank you!

Been to both Le Cellier and Teppan, wanted to try something new. BTW i wasnt impressed with Le Cellier. Also, Is Chefs really that bad??

I agree with you about Sci Fi and TRex. Both are very fun places to eat.

Thank you all for the great suggestions. It really helps! :flower3:

I just got back from a Mother/Son trip with DS16 and he really liked Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge. He's asked for us to go back there in the future.

I guess he liked the food? or was it the antics? or both? im curious about that place. Always meant to go but never quite made it there.

It must be antics. And all you can drink milk-shakes. The service is pretty great. Ask for ketchup. I've only ordered the skillet, and it's always over-cooked dried out meat. I really want to love this place. Service always draws me back, food always makes me question my choice.

Crystal Palace - breakfast (been to dinner/lunch but never breakfast) DID NOT LiKE SERVICE OR FOOD LAST TMEVia Napoli - lunch OOP (never been)

Flying fish - desperate to try this! never been. NEVER BEEN

Ohana dinner - Never been. Is it good? is Kona better? BOTH ARE GREAT, wE SOMETIMES EAT OHANA'S TWICE IN ONE TRIP

Chefs/France - good food?? never been. REAL GOOD

Tusker lunch (been to breakfast but never lunch). - One of the best buffets I've been to at Disney! Even DBF, who is NOT an adventurous eater, liked the lunch.

Via Napoli - I liked it, but I didn't love it the way I hoped I would.

Ohana dinner - I was very disappointed with Ohana this past trip. It's been downgraded imo from "love" to "like." The Asian-style dishes such as the noodles and potstickers were too Americanized for my liking. The chicken was too sweet and sticky. LOVED the bread pudding, though!

Chefs/France - This is a restaurant I would choose for ambiance, but not food. I didn't book Chefs this past trip because I didn't think DBF would enjoy it very much. Every time we walked by the window, I couldn't help but think, "I wish I were one of those people sitting by the window sipping wine."
