Buying resale. Am figuring on using blt (home resort) in dec for 6 nights and would like to use hhi, vero, or alunai during summer. How realistic is it that at 7 month window you will get these resorts?

I would feel like I'm fully utilizing the dvc if I get a beach trip and an annual Disney trip. What do u think?

Depending on how many days you want at HHI or VB (don't know nuthing about Aulani), you may or may not be able to book a stay there.

Can anyone be more specific? Can anyone share their experience trying to book at these resorts 7 months out? Is there a high percentage of getting it or 50/50? Or even lower?

HHI has been reported as being very tough to get at 7 months out during the summer months when school is out. i would not count on booking HHI at 7 months (but it has happened, so you never know.)

aulani is new. hawaii in the summer for other timeshares tends to be a tough trade. aulani will probably be similar...but we don't really know for sure yet.

VB is more in demand during the summer but i don't know that it's as tough as HHI to book...

HI is too early to tell but it's likely to be tough for summer. HHI is VERY tough, doubly so if you don't want a 2 BR. VB is difficult but not impossible, esp if you can do with an Inn room. For all you'd likely need to call at opening exactly 7 days out.

Yes, but you can't combine points at the 11 month mark. You can only use that resort's points at the 11 month mark.

Yes, but you can only use the contract for the home resort points. For instance if you have 125 pts at HHI, you can only use those points and any banked or borrowed for that contract. You cannot use the other 125 from BLT until the 7 mth window.

You could use three years' worth of points every three years. Bank them, use them and borrow them for 375 points at one time.

they are both your "home resorts" but only to the extent you have enough specific "home resort" pts to book at each resort.

if you own 50 BLT pts and 2000 SSR pts, you can only use the BLT pts from the BLT contract to book BLT at 11 months out. no getting around it. at 7 months, you can mix pts to book whatever is available.
