From your experience, how long does it take to drive from the Orlando International Airport to Disney property?? It says it is about 25 miles but it can take anywhere from 40-70 minutes... is this true?

Yes, it's true. Time depends on the route you take and the time of day.

When we take the south route (usually very little traffic), it takes about 35 minutes on average.

If you take the Beeline and I-4, you can get caught up in traffic and it can take much longer. I-4 is a busy freeway most of the time.

Time of day does matter; 45 minutes would be the average assuming traffic is moving, IMHO.

We will be leaving the airport around 12:30-1:00 on Monday October 19th

While the drive time may be 30-45 minutes, if you are renting a car then allow an additional 30-60 minutes on top of that. On our last trip I took our toddler with me to get the rental car and sent my dh and other child on the DME bus.. they were at the resort and checked in by the time I arrived (no stops along the way either). Also be sure to have cash for the toll road.

When I've rented from Avis there has been a SunPass (or whatever they call it) for tolls. I was billed a couple dollars per day the pass was used plus the toll. The charges showed up on my credit card a couple weeks after my trips.

If you're renting from a company at MCO, I'd say 30 minutes from leaving the garage. I always use the south route (417), never have run into traffic.

This. I've never encountered any significant traffic on 417.
