Help, please!!

My 400D won't turn off! I shot some pictures, then on the last one, the display stayed black, and now nothing works. It will not turn off either. The green light stays on even though I've turned it off.

Anyone got any ideas?

SOP for me with all things electronic is to "reboot" when a problem cannot be corrected in other ways. Try removing the battery and re-inserting it.

You may want to remove the memory card, first, "just in case"...

I think the green light indicates that the camera is still writing to the memory card. Maybe a card error?

I had that happen several times too and once I took the battery out and put it back in - it was fine... but I didn't get the photo I had just taken.
