Hi I have not been to Universal since taking ill. I have been to disney and to Busch gardens. I used a GAC at disney and a card at bucsh which allowed me to use alternative entrances. The Busch one was great they just told you to come back at a time equiv to the time you would have had to wait in the queue- great idea, at disney it normal line in some and in the other you feel like you are skipping the line - I felt a bit uneasy doing this.

What Happens at Universal -are most ride available for wheelchair users (I can transfer) I also cant wait about in the sun due to meds I am now on.

It has been a long time since I was last at universal Do they have shaded places to wait or are most queues inside anyway.

Thanks for any help I have tried the disabilities part of the forum but got no response thus I am now posting here.

Here is how it works at Universal...

If you get a Guest Assistance Pass from Guest Services, it works as a return time Express Pass. If the waits are under 30 minutes, you will be directed to the alternate line (could be the express line or another wheelchair friendly line). If the waits are over 30 minutes, the attendant out front will write you a return time that is fifteen minutes less than the actual wait time; so say the wait is an hour, you'll return in 45 minutes and go through the Express Line. Unlike the Express Pass, the GAP pass will work at Pteranadon Flyers, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and Ollivander's.

There is a an air conditioned family room where you can wait. Make sure you ask about it when you get the GAC at Guest Services.

Thank you so much that the info I was looking for. Sound very similar to the system at Busch gardens- I thought that it worked well and was fairer for everyone than the disney system.

the family rooms are amazing.

a/c and plenty of seats for the rest of your group to relax in while waiting for your ride time.

There are also tons of quick service restaurants around where you can just sit inside in the air conditioning while waiting for your time to ride :)

We went to Universal on Monday. Be sure to pick up a Rider's Guide at guest services. It gives a little write up about each ride.

I didn't know there was an air conditioned family room. Is there just one in the park? Is this something that also gets written or attatched to the Attraction Assistance Card? We rarely go to Universal or IOA because ds can't ride simulators or do strobes, but when we do, we have hung out at the Lucy exhibit while waiting.

Sorry for jumping into this thread, but my husband uses an ECV and I'm trying to prepare for our trip. Will this work the same way for guests who stay at the Universal hotels and would be using the express pass anyway?

TIA!

No, you would go straight to the express line.
