Hi I am trying to help DD's coach plan a DL trip from out of state. When DD and I go to DL we stay at the Grand Californian and that is beyond the school's budget. What very close hotel would you recommend.
Best Western Park Place Inn
Marriott Fairfield
any other hotel

The girls are 13-16 yo and will need to be able to go back and forth to the hotel as they will be performing and taking classes and will need breaks.

Thanks for the help

HoJo's with the Entertainment rate. The second choice would be the Candy Cane Inn, which has it's own exclusive shuttle.

Hojo's is just past the Fairfield Inn and has excellent customer service. Best Western Park Place Inn is the closest to the park. Just depends on what you're looking for.

Where are they preforming/taking classes?

I would say Candy Cane because of the shuttle. I personally would feel more comfortable having my daughter take a private shuttle vs. walking or taking ART. Although I'd probably make sure I got to chaperone as well.;)

Best Western Park Place Inn is directly across the street from the entrance. Can't get any closer!:)

They will be in either of the two parks. Not sure exactly where each class will be.

We stayed there once about 12 years ago. It was not that clean and the bathrooms were pretty funky. How is it now? Since I am making a recommendation for about 20+ girls and who knows how many adults and siblings.

Thanks for the help everyone.

When the local middle school choir/band goes, they always stay at the Tropicana. We stopped in to pick up bags when my daughter went with them (we were staying an extra day or two) and we thought the room was a decent size and it seemed to be pretty clean.

I've heard good things about BWPPI and Candy Cane Inn but we've never stayed at either.

I would absolutely recommend the HOJO though.

How big is the group? If there's going to be several rooms, the coach should call the Sales Manager at suitable hotels to see if you can book a group rate.

I am glad you have heard good things about BWPPI as the location is good. HOJO's is too far, we really need to be able to hop back to the hotel a couple times a day.

That is my job, and I have spoken with the Disney group department and their rates are higher then the current promotion rates so I will just book the room through the regular channels if we have the money for a Disney hotel. If not I will call which ever hotel we decide and discuss a group rate.

Thanks again for the help everyone.

Is he taking a group of kids with him and if so how many? I suggest Anaheim Plaza. Huge pool cheap rooms walking distance

I disagree ~ the HoJo is an easy walk especially for young teenagers.

Agreed. The HoJo is an easy walk.

Is HoJO's 10 minutes or less from the parks? From what I read it seemed like it was closer to 20 min walk, I hope I am wrong and if it is only 10 minute walk then we will consider it. 10 min is really the max time we want them walking also if us parents want a break we are not that young. These girls are dancers and will be tired from dancing for 3 hours at a time. We have concerns about injuries. We added an extra day just so they would have down time, class time, and park time.

It may be too long then. I remember it at about a 10 minute walk. I didn't complain so it couldn't have been that bad.

Hi JeannieNM!

We are definitely closer to an 8-10 minute walk. I make this walk over myself pretty frequently, and it never takes me longer than that.

I think it can start to take a little longer [maybe 12-15 minutes] if you are a parent pushing a stroller, or walking with little ones who's strides are a little shorter than ours, or if you have someone in your party that has some difficulty walking- but otherwise, it can definitely be done in about 10 minutes.

I will admit that sometimes, at the very end of the day, that 10 minutes FEELS a lot longer, but that's what the hot tub is for! :goodvibes

Hope this helps!

Lorealle,
I just sent you a message via youtube to ask if you still had that walk to DL video. I remembered a while back watching it.
