Hi all. We will be down in Disney in April. I have all of my ADR's picked out except for where we are going to have dinner the night we are at DHS. My DD is 3 so I need something she would enjoy and is appropriate for her age. Please help with your suggestions!!!!!:flower3:

:goodvibes Can you tell me why? I'm just curious about the menu.

I like the Sci-Fi. It has car booths that your 3 yr old will like. It's not too quiet of a restaurant, so it's kid friendly. The milkshakes are great!

They show movies on a screen. The are old b&w sci-fi, so I don't think they will appeal to your daughter, but will probably entertain her for a little while.

They have a kids menu with hamburgers, hot dogs and mac & cheese, and a good menu for adults as well.

You can find the full menu here:

I'm as guilty of this as anyone but I do get the feeling that we as parents spend too much effort trying to make sure children are entertained at dinner. Don't get me wrong, I think a lot of these Disney places are fun and something unique that you don't or can't get at home but with young children (particularly under 4), you are getting pretty much the same Mac & Cheese & Chicken Fingers wherever you go. I don't think it's being selfish to go to whatever place that YOU (mom & dad) want to have dinner at while at DHS.

Having said that, I am in the process of reserving 2 character meals, a princess breakfast, WCC and Ohana for an upcoming trip. :rotfl2:

Do as I say, not as I do. :rolleyes1

I would vote for Sci-Fi, but I did want to add, all restaurants here would be fine for your 3 yo. We went to brown derby last week w/our 7 and 4 yo and had no issues. there were many many kids there.

Are you planning on booking a Fantasmic Dinner Package? If so there are only 3 TS resturants that have this offer. Brown Derby, Momma Melrose and H&V.

I have a 4 year old who will be 5 when we go in June and we want the Package so I don't have to stand in line forever trying to get a seat. We area booking Momma Melrose because Italian resturants are always safe for my kids.

We have always done Mama Melrose's with our DD (4). She really loves pasta. The staff has always been helpful bringing crackers and coloring sheets and anything else we have needed to entertain her.

We like Sci-Fi too, but we feel that 50's has the larger selection of consistently good food. Plus, the theme is really fun! Not that Sci-Fi isn't, but we generally do Sci-Fi for lunch and get burgers and shakes.

50's Prime Time gets our vote!

Hollywood and Vine - the food is not very good. The only reason to go here in our opinion would be the character meal.

Mama Melrose - food is good but service was slow the night we were there. Plus it is on the opposite side of the park from Fantasmic.

On our most recent trip, we had a big lunch at 50's Prime Time and then got CS food and carried it in to wait for Fantasmic. Eating dinner while waiting helped pass the time waiting for the show to start.

I completely forgot about the Fantasmic dinner package. I have done this before but it's been several years ago, I think DD will love the show!!! Thanks for all of your advice. I can always count on you guys!!!!:grouphug:

Just got back. We love Mama Melrose. The kids get their pasta and salad. We love the soup, salad and flatbread pizza. We go every time we are in MGM. We've always had good food and service.:thumbsup2

50s Prime Time is a lot of fun. Just make sure your DD knows that the server is playing with her. The kid meal is really good there too.

My vote too! We love MM! If you go during the week for lunch, ask for Barbara!:)

None... and double up for a signature on one of the other nights. It's what we do. Tired of the offerings at DHS. Not thrilled with the one credit TS in DHS and we don't think Brown Derby would be a 2 TS credit anywhere else - they just wanted a 2 TS in DHS and picked one without it being worthy. We just do two CS meals in DHS now. Works for us. YMMV.

I didnt like the sci-fi.....the ribs were good, but my DH got the steak and it was horrible......Hollywood and vine was good though.....

We:lovestruc 50's Primetime! The food is great and the right server can really make for a fun experience. Sci-Fi is fun too and we all enjoyed our meals there as well.
