Hi, we are planning a weekend trip to go to MNSSHP. We are arriving on Oct. 9 late in the evening, probably 9 or 10 pm. So we will be eating on the road that evening. We will only be visiting MNSSHP from 4 to midnight on the 10th. I am trying to get an ADR for the Ohana breakfast on Oct. 10. If I am not able to do this I will keep the ADR I already have for Ohana on the 11th. Since we will be paying OOP, I want to eat at a counter service the rest of the meals.

Now here is where I need help....If we do not go to Ohana for breakfast on the 10th, we will probably grab some breakfast at All star sports or we will get up late and have lunch somewhere. I would like to have lunch at a counter service restaurant at one of the nicer resorts. I would prefer one of the monorail resorts but I don't really know where to go. I thought about DTD but I'm sure we'll visit it on the 11th before we go home. I don't want our only day at Disney wasted going over there. Where should we go?

Also, Kona Cafe seemed nice for lunch. Even though I need an ADR prices aren't bad. I may call sometime when they open. Anyone have opinions on Kona Cafe?

Thanks is advance!!

Kona has always been one of our favorites, but our dinner there a few weeks ago wasn't that great. Could have just been an off night - I hope so, anyway!

The Grand Floridian cafe is also nice for a sitdown lunch. Not sure what they have for CS at the Contemporary with all the construction going on over there. The Poly also has a CS spot, Captain Cook's is the name of it.

I would NOT recommend the CS at Poly, Capt Cooks. It's just okay and really not worth the trip. We ate there only b/c we were staying at the Poly and didn't want to lose time going anywhere else. Just my 2 cents. I did not go to Kona Cafe but I have seen many rave reviews on the Poly threads. Good luck!

How about the Pepper Mart in Coronado Springs. Just stayed there the food is better than your average CS. Also we got Cheeseburgers they are not at all like the others. They were real cheesburgers lol.

Just so you know, the Kona Cafe is table service, not counter service. I wasn't sure if you were on the DDP and needed the clarification.:confused3

Thanks, yeah, I know. That's why I said even though I need an ADR at Kona the prices are not that bad for lunch. We are paying OOP(out of pocket). I'm just looking for reasonably priced either CS or TS for lunch (even though the thread says CS) since we will be paying close to 80 dollars at the Ohana breakfast. I hope that doesn't sound snappy. I'm just clarifying that I would rather it be a CS so that I don't need an ADR but it doesn't have to be as long as the meals are in the 10 to 14 dollar range. Somewhere that would cost no different than going to Applebees or Chili's, ya know? I'm going to go call to see if I can get Kona Cafe for lunch. We'll see if I can get it.... I'll be back.

Ok so I just called and booked Kona Cafe for 12:15 pm for lunch. So thanks so much everyone for helping me make this decision. I appreciate it! I can always count on the Dis!:disrocks:
