We are returning to disney 12/20 - 12/27. We are staying in CSR (thanks to disboard advise!) and will be on the DxDP. We are real FOODIES popcorn:: and eat out often and love to be spoiled withe great meals and great surroundings. My boys 6 and 11 are adventurous eaters too.

Here's the issue, we are trying to maximize our TS credits and use them mostly for signature dining. This leaves us most days eating only 2 meals which is fine except that on Christmas morning we would like to have a great breakfast somewhere special. Also on this day we have BD booked for 2:15p as part of a Fantasmic package and plan to do Sci-Fi after the 8p show as we have never dined there before.

Okay, with that said...Should we venture off property (we will have our car)?

Has anyone done Gaylord Palms or Peabody on Christmas morning??

Do I dare trust anyone but Disney to wow us on such a special day?

Where can we go early enough tha we will make it back to HS for our 2:15 @ BD?

Or should we just grab something quick and head straight to HS to make sure we get in before max capacity???

ANY input would be great!!!

I would get to a park and stay there. Grab muffins or something quick from your resort (using some snack credits) and get the key rides done early. Plan a nice lunch.

Personally for Christmas morning I wouldn't grab a quick bite and then do commando touring. I would like to enjoy a leisurely breakfast and relax. However, I do think you need to get to the parks before they may reach capacity. Unfortunately you are heading to Hollywood Studios which doesn't have much choice, IMHO. I'm not sure if your kids are young enough to enjoy the character breakfast at Hollywood and Vine with JoJo's Circus. That seems more the preschool set.

I might be tempted to eat at CSR at the Maya Grill. It looks like an ok breakfast. A little different. But I don't think it will WOW you, if that is what you are looking for.

We went to the Peabody one time to see the duck parade. That was fun and I bet their breakfast on Christmas morning would be nice. But that is just based on the atmosphere of the hotel. I don't know what they offer.

We are brunching at Fresh at the Dolphin on Christmas morning. Never eaten there before, but heard GREAT things about the breakfast buffet.

It is priced at: Adults $17.95; Children $10.95

Thanks so much for the replies, I'm still very interested in readind any first hand reviews of Gaylord Palms or Peabody.:worship: Please,

Maybe try posting on the Orlando Attractions board to see if anyone over there has eaten at the hotels you mentioned.

I agree with the other posters, though...you're going to want to get to Hollywood Studios early! Christmas is going to be insane. I wouldn't plan on doing much other than soaking it in and eating!

If your're going to the studios, why not go to Cape May caracter breakfast. It's in the Beach Club resort. You could take a bus to the studios early, then walk there. I guess it would take about 15 minutes and then walk back or take the boat to the studios.

I would do Christmas morning breakfast at the GF Cafe early, then head to DHS.

I could be wrong but I don't think DHS will reach capacity on Christmas Day.

I've stayed at both the Gaylord and the Peabody, the Gaylord is much more festive and spectacular at Christmas time. So out of those I would choose the Gaylord.

If DHS reaches capacity, your ADR will not get you through the gate. I would get to DHS early, have a great breakfast of cupcakes at Starring Rolls using snack credits and snack until lunch. If they reach capacity, you not only don't get in, but you lose your deposit for the F! package.

We are eating at Boma Christmas morning. We are not going to a park this day, but I am with one of the others, I really don't think Disney Studios will reach capacity. Of course I could be wrong, but have been there three years recently on Christmas and I have only seen MK hit capacity. Not sure about Epcot, but Disney Studios and Animal Kingdom have not, those are the two we have been to on Christmas.

Another TS option close to the Studios is Kouzzina on the Boardwalk. I haven't been there yet, but their breakfast gets good reviews.

Thanks so much for all the great feedback. Based on your replies we've decided to get to the park early and not risk it. I was lucky enought to score a 9am at Ohana (so the kids will think it is special) and we'll head to HS right after. :santa:
