I was lurking on a webiste (not the DIS) and when I clicked on a link (a link I have clicked a million times before) my AOL shut down and about 30 Internet Explorers started opening....one after another, after another. They all just had the 'bad connection' page, and because it was happening so fast I didn't have a chance to take notice of the website address it was trying to connect to. We did a 'manual' shut down, then restarted, ran our virus scan (0 infected files), checked for updates (none), deleted all cookies, internet files & the history and now everything seems to be fine. I tried to do a little research to find out what happened, but I can't find anything. Is there anyone out there that has any idea what it could have been? My biggest concern is that there is now a monitor on my PC tracking my passwords and such. :sad2:

TIA

If you have aol 9.0, you can install a firewall. I'd also give the aol help desk a call or send them a message.

that kind of error can be caused by a flaw in the code on the web page itself-unforunately its very hard to tell if that is the problem. Its unlikely that a key stroke logger was installed on your machine that way-most of those ride on downloaded files or in programs you run without taking proper security measures
