We are going to WDW in October. I have read lots of great things about Cpyress Pointe and can get it for a great price on Hotel Kingdom. Need a 2 BR. Now I see someone on ebay can get me Vistana, Orange Lake, Silver Lake, Grand Lake, Villas @ Summer Bay, Celebration WOrld and several others for about $150 cheaper than I will be paying at Cypress Pointe. However, I do not know much about these other resorts and I like how close Cypress Point is to WDW.

Any suggestions?

Thanks. pirate:

Cypress Pointe DOES have the best location of all of these besides Vistana..the others are on 192 and traffic can be horrible however October may not be too bad. I would stay away from Grand Lakes though as it is nasty.

We are staying at the Vistana Villages later this month. From everything that I have seen (pictures), and reviews, it is very, very nice. I will post a report as soon as I get home! there is also a Vistana Resort, which is also nice.Vistana Villages is on the quieter end of International Drive, 10 minutes from DW, across from Sea World.Let me know if you would like any more information about this resort, I have done alot of research on it, because I wanted to be sure that we were staying in a nice place- I have heard nothing but good reports on it! :flower:

Thanks for the replies. It is the Sheraton Vistana Resort. I have read some great reviews but then I have read some about being put in a really old section. Would not want that. The new area sounds great.

They are all nice resorts....but I think I would pick Orange Lake hands down. The villas are beautiful....very clean and spacious with bright cheerful colors. Great floorplan, awesome Splash Lagoon area...supermarket practically onsite....lots of activities, nice clubhouse...great location to Disney. Just My Opinion. If you go to OrangeLake.com you can see some pictures...it looks just like this.

Only downside for me is that the place is HUGE HUGE HUGE!!! I would ask for a villa near the main pool...but you may still wind up driving.

Have stayed at Vistana, Silver Lake and Cypress Pointe, but loved Orange Lake.

Happy planning!

What about Hilton Vacation Club at Seaworld? Is it a long drive to WDW? Orange Lake does look very nice. Big possibility. Thank you.

best resort I have stayed at - rooms, service, amenties and pools. My children love it there! I have also been at Summer Bay and Cypress Pointe. Although Cypress Pointe is closer - I thought all the traffic lights on hotel boulevard and around downtown disney could become very congested. I did not think that Orange Lake was that much further of a drive - and the shortcut along Sherberth road really shortens the ride.. Probably 5 or 10 minutes tops to Animal Kingdom...

Summer Bay is further away from WDW along 192 - and does not compare to Orange Lake if you can get both for the same price.

My sister and her husband have stayed at HGVC and love it. It is easy to get to disney from its location on International Drive.. Also - if you are planning time at SeaWorld or universal - this location is very convenient. Cypress Pointe is the next best location for visiting the other theme parks.

I think that all of the resorts you have listed will be fine. I hope you have a great trip!

Of the resorts you listed we have stayed at Vistana, Orange Lake, and Silver Lake. I would choose any of these again, in this order:

1 - Silver Lake
2 - Orange Lake
3 - Sheraton Vistana Resort

I think all three are incredible resorts and you'd be happy at any of them, but Silver Lake has the very best location of the three. Orange Lake might be a little plusher, but it's a very large resort. It also has the best pool, but don't use the pools as much as we do the parks so that was not a deciding factor and Silver Lakes pool area is also very good. Sheraton Vistana has many smaller pools within each area, which is very nice, keeping things from never seeming crowded. You are adjacent to Disney property at Silver Lake and never have to get on a main road. Hopefully this is helpful information for you.
