I have 2 TS left and can't decide between Capn Jacks, Spoodle's or Wolfgang Puck Cafe. Is there much to see and do for younger kids at Dinsey Boardwalk or Downtown Disney. We have never been to either we are taking a 4 and 12 year old and thought they might give us a little break from the parks :confused3 . Thanks for any advice.

While I can't provide any personal experience (yet...), here's what someone else said about Spoodles. While I think they used CS, it made for a good review: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1213772

It sounded so good to us, we're thinking of going there at month's end.

We're all looking forward to hearing of your experiences...

Enjoy!

At Downtown Disney, much of what there is to see involves stores; at Boardwalk, there's live entertainment (jugglers/magicians, etc) for the kids to enjoy. Both places are fine, they're just very different. :goodvibes

We did Wolf Gang Pucks Cafe in DTD and would eat there again in a heart beat! We think it was one of the best meals we had, we used a Ts for lunch, we couldnt get in for dinner. :thumbsup2

To be fair, the Spoodles Pizza Window and Spoodles are two completely different eateries. The Spoodles Pizza Window is perhaps the best CS pizza available on-property. Spoodles, the restaurant, doesn't serve pizza. It is a fantastic restaurant. I had gone through some tough times in the last couple of years, since Chef Marianne Hummel moved on to other responsibilities, but there is a new chef there now and the most recent reviews are very positive. It looks like Spoodles is back on top.

I have to vote for Wolfgang Puck Cafe. On our recent trip (we just got home on Sunday), we ate at both WPC and Spoodles. I may be in the minority here, but we really didn't like Spoodles. I thought the food was very bland (we had the 4 cheese flatbread appetizer and the steak with fries for entree - no dessert).

On the other hand, Wolfgang Puck was outstanding! I had the spinach & artichoke dip appetizers (this was SOOOO good) and the steak with fries and onion petals on it and some sauce that was really good! I also had the cheesecake for dessert, which was outstanding.

Wolfgang Puck is a beautiful restaurant. It was much noiser than Spoodles, which was very quiet and seemed more "fancy" to me. "With kids, I think Wolfgang Puck is more kid-friendly. Plus, our friends went and said the kids mac & cheese is the best they've ever tasted!

Just my humble opinion.

We've only eaten at Wolfgang's but can say it was our best TS meal for our 1-week stay (8-26 - 9-2). The food was REALLY good. Unfortunately, we were there for dinner the evening Ernesto came thru. Our original plan was to eat & then walk around DTD. We did walk (& got soaking wet) for a bit but I can't really say how good the area is for kids. We did find shelter at the Lego store which my kids really enjoyed. We had to tear them away from it.

But back to Wolfgang's ... it's a lively, noisy place where children would just blend right in (we have 4 young sons). Some foods we ate there: spinch dip w/ pita (YUMMY!), basic salad (yum), mergherita pizza (YUM!), key lime pie (YUM!), chocolate cake (good but a bit dry). I can't even remember what we got (there were 5 of us who ordered) but we were very happy there. Our server was fantastic as well.

Oh, ds13 just walked in - he had spring rolls for appetizer & 5-cheese ravioli for entree that he liked very much.

I would go to Wolfgang Pucks. We went there with my boys, age 9. The food was outstanding. The Filet Mignon with potatoes and onion straws were the best I ever had. The 3 cheese ravioli was also good. All the appetizers and desserts were wonderful, especially the crab cakes and the chocolate fondue. After dinner we took the boat over to the other side of Down Town Disney. The kids like the Lego store and the Christmas shop.

Thank you all for your ideas. Looks like we are going to do Spoodles and WGP. My husband has nixed Boma he is not a very adventurest person and he thought Spoodles and WGP Had a menu more for him. I'm happy anywhere so didn't matter I also have le cellier, coral reef, concourse, Chef Mickey and Playhouse disney at the vine so I think we are going to get to eat at plenty of places. We are heading in Feb. when there isn't any free dining yet I hope they do offer it but not getting my hopes up, so I was able to get ressies everywhere at the exact time I wanted. Thanks again!

My DH, DS9 and myself all agree on this-eat anywhere BUT Cap N' Jack's! Just our humble opinions!
