Instead of schlepping back to Pop in the afternoon, we may decide to stay at the parks and have my daughter nap in her stroller, if that plan works for her. :earboy2: Does anyone have any good suggestions for relatively quiet/calm/cool locations in the parks where we could hang out for an hour or two in the afternoon? She's a pretty good napper once we get her down. In fact, white noise tends to help her sleep. In MK, I think that we would like to be in the Tomorrowland vicinity so DH and I could possibly take turns going on the Stitch ride.

Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!

My favorite place to have my nephew nap is inside Exposition Hall when we are at Magic Kingdom. It is air conditioned, usually very quiet and things for me to look at while he sleeps.

When we would be at Epcot or MGM, I would use his nap to park hop on the boat while he slept because I didn't have to fold up the stroller.

Have a great trip!

I am fortunate to have good nappers, but I would recommend the TTA, you can relax too and you don't have to get off (never a line either to get on.) How old is your daughter?

I can think of a few places at Epcot first place to get you out of the heat is at innoventions across from the Land in the building closer to the world show case .... nothing inside other then benches, AC and a bathroom.. they use this space for special events. and even then you can find a space for a nap.(for the baby that is) I have seen big people getting some rest there as well.

Also if you don't need to get out of the heat by the Rose Garden in the UK.. that is if the band isn't playing. You also should visit the baby care centers if they are not too grouded you maybe able to get a nap in there.(MGM BCC too small for napping)

Goog luck have a great time... we were there with our 3 month old Granddaughter in July it was hot but fun!! Enjoy

Thanks for the ideas. I've never checked out the Exposition Hall so that might be perfect for us. Do you know if they allow strollers in there?

tinkernelllec- my daughter is 14 months old. She usually nurses to sleep, so hopefully, I'll be able to just slip her in her stroller after she's done eating and drap a blanket over the front. This is her second trip to WDW, but she was only 4 months old the first time. Naps came a lot easier back then!

my son (10 months) napped on alot of the rides. HM, 3D SHOWS, BACKLOT TOUR, Spaceship Earth, etc...so even the rides are a good place to get away.

They allow strollers in Exposition Hall and while you are there, you can check out your Photo Pass pictures as well. Have a great trip!

We used eating areas for naps - baby napped and we had a snack. Also, when at MK, I would take the monorail over to the Poly or Contemporary and hang out in the lounge area. This was a little quieter.

We have personally napped in several locations, and never headed back for a nap at the hotel.

First off, POTC is cool and airconditioned in the line--no strollers allowed, but I just carried DD, and she nodded off just as soon as we got in the dim, cool corridors. She slept right through the ride, transferred easily back into her stroller, and I shopped around the POTC gift shop.

Epcot has several nap-friendly areas :rotfl: We are usually in the WS in the afternoon, so we like to tour the "museum" in China. You will learn some interesting things about warriors and traditional dress, while little one snoozes in the stroller--cool and slightly dim, very quiet also. We made laps until she fell asleep.

We never bother with the trip back, because they always fall asleep on the way back, and then we are back at the hotel with two wide awake, well-rested kids. Perhaps I should really reccomend a trip on the Disney bus? :)

In MK, and especially in Tomorrowland, I'd suggest the Carousel of Progress. It's about a 25 minute presentation, in seated air conditioned comfort, and I think it would be ideal. You could hand her off and each of you could see it once or twice while the other saw Stitch. TTA is good but I've always been made to get off and get back in line, even if there isn't a line, so that might not work so well for you.

The benches inside Cosmic Ray's are good, too. There are some over near the place where you order the chicken meals that would be relatively quiet except at high lunchtime.

Have a great trip!!!

In the MK take the bridge to the left of the castle. on you left as you go over ther are some srotre behind them is a small park.
Epcot walk over by Internation gateway and by the stor there are some benches. Also just next to test trac is the Babbycenter this building has a/c and room also any thing you might have forgot.
MGM if you go in the back way of the tour that show how thay draw the movies can't think of the name. This is also wher you can meet the IMP family.
Take the moniral tour .

Our DS was 2 for two of his trips (under 3 and free! yeah!). He easily sleeps in his stroller. We brought it from home, we drove. He napped on the porch near LTT. We enjoyed that because we sat on the rocking chairs and people watched. Another time we found a bench directly under a ceiling fan in front of a gift shop in AK. It was hidden by bushes from the main walkway and very quiet.

He also has fallen asleep on TTA, only because it got stuck while in SM. We were in there for at least 30 minutes. He would never fall asleep on it while "riding" because of his love of trains and anything "to him" that perhaps might resemble a train in any way.

Here's where our daughter has napped during the last 4 trips, from ages 1-3:

MK: Rose Garden off Main Street (unless it's near parade time); Rocking chairs on porch in Frontierland (can't remember the name of the restaurant or store, but it's right near Bear Jamboree); Main Street shops (they're quiet and cool in the afternoon).

EPCOT: Outside Wonders of Life, since it's closed (there's a bench); I would think World Showcase would have plenty of spots, but haven't tried there yet.

AK: There's a little-known place with some tables and chairs behind the ice cream shop in Harambe. No one was there! Also, walking the Pangani (sp?) Forest Trail (the one near the Safari) and the Jungle Trek (in Asia) are both peaceful and cool (if it isn't a busy time).

MGM: Right near the fountain where Min & Bill's is, but closer to the stores (where the place where the fruit slushes is). It's busy, but the fountain creates white noise. Also, the covered take-out restaurant over my Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground.

Hope these help!

Hi! My little guy has always nursed to sleep as well, and that still worked great on Disney vacations. A little warm milk plus all that activity and warm sunshine - and he was out like a light. He did great napping in his stroller. I just found a nice, comfy spot to sit and nurse him (on a bench, on a ride, in a show, etc.) and when he fell asleep we just slipped him right back in his stroller. We used a stroller sunshade to block out the light and it was like a cozy little tent on wheels. I don't think you'll have any problems. Like somebody else said, though, my all time favorite ride for nursing/napping is the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. There is NEVER a line and you can just stay on as long as you want. Our favorite thing to do while he naps is just walk around and explore at a slower pace. We might check out some gift shops, grab some ice cream and relax on a bench while we people watch, etc. Have fun! If you need any other information, just let me know! My little guy has been on three trips (at 12 months, 19 months, and 25 months) and we've nursed and napped our way around the world each time! :goodvibes

When our DD napped in the stroller we'd walk around taking turns riding rides and stuff while she slept, we didn't really stop anywhere but then again the noise and stuff didn't bother her. We had a Ray Shade that we'd pull way down, and we had a clip on fan which also kept her cool and provided white noise.
Have fun!
:)

We love taking the monorail over to the Contemporary and go to the 2nd floor where some of the covention rooms are and it's so quiet and they have nice big comfy chairs and couches and best of all air conditioning!. My kids always have a nice nap there... we've done it 3 or 4 times when we are staying at Pop or it's our last day and we had to give up our room.

I have found the very best place to get a nap is Hall of Presidents for both little ones and adults ;)

I don't see anyone who has mentioned this and it was the only place my kids would nap, other than the hotel: Take the child, stroller and all onto the monorail. The monorail goes around in circles and is climate-controlled -- works like a charm. No one makes you get off. Take a book for yourself or you might end up falling asleep also.
