Help please from a techy person.

Please let me say at the outset that I need the answer in the most basic language.

I have a Lexmark X73 printer and scanner. The printer is brilliant, but whenever I try to scan to e-mail it wants to use Outlook Express, but as I am an aol user this is not possible. AOL does not support Outlook Express or something!

The Lexmark then says that you need to know your STMP server but that also seems to be difficult with aol.

Has anyone got the foggies idea what I should do? Sorry to be so dumb. I suppose I could e-mail the help site, but I don't think that I would understand the answer.

I think as you are using AOL, which does not use standard email technology, then it's unlikely you will be able to scan directly into email.

I would suggest scanning into another program, and saving the file, and then attaching it to your email. I usually scan everything into a photo program - there is a free one here if you need one.
