Okay, DH has a convention at CSR and I think things may work out so I can go too! :thumbsup2 I have a few questions for the experts. Has anyone done this? We are planning on extending our stay. Can I or we participate in the DDP? My parents are probably also going to be there during that time so I will play all day and DH can join us with the after 4p.m. tickets. I need to eat and would really like to do the DDP and didn't know if there are any restrictions on DDP since we are staying with a convention and using convention rates. I appreciate any help on this subject. DH is supposed to call today, but I'm not very patient and want some info sooner! Thank you so much for your help and expertise.

Price your tickets carefully. You may well find the after 4 deals aren't that great. We just ordered normal tickets from Undercover tourist. Of course, if your sponsoring group is underwriting a substantial portion of the ticket price, then the after 4's may be a good deal. (These are advertised to the group promoters to help insure attendees don't go to the park "early".)

We stayed a few days after a CSR convention. I booked a nice room at POR. We didn't have any problems doing a split stay, and, for us, it was nice to separate work from vacation. It was a MUCH shorter walk from our room at POR to the bus, than from our room at CSR to the bus stop.

You may want to make a few lunch ADR's for yourself. Make sure you make any ADR's you may want for after the convention. We made an ADR for Maya Grill for our first night, during the convention-timed it so we weren't rushed on arrival. My DH never knew when he'd be off, so we had to catch as catch can for dinners. If you think you might want last minute ADR's keep the Disney Dine# handy. When we were at CSR, the little grocery/sandwich place was perpetually lacking stock. I realized the store at AKL had a great selection, so when we needed something, I picked up a few things there. It's not hard to take the bus, or if you want to take a taxi, it's a quick ride from CSR to AKL.

Cell phones were great-if DH was really late, he could call, and if he was getting out early, he could call, too. There was a day he got done at 2pm, so we were off to the park.

Hope this is of some help!

If you are getting a discounted 'conference' rate at the resort than more than likely you won't be able to get the DDP and if you are able to get it both you and your DH will have to be on it since the DDP is supposed to be added on for each person in the room. We asked about this for one of DH's conferences so unless that rule has changed in the last year the DDP will not be an option. We usually always work it out so that I go with DH to his conferences but we have FL Seasonal APs so I'm not sure about the best deal for tickets.

Thank you so much! I don't mind if we pay for DDP for both of us for the the entire time, just wondering if we could do it at all due to the room rate. Cell phones will be a must because DH can't keep on a schedule here at home, and I know with convention schedule and transportation schedules we'd just have to meet up when he gets to a particular spot. Thanks for the info about the discount tickets. I'll check it out the prices and make sure we get the best deal. Anyone else have any suggestions? Thanks for your help.
