My husband and I have just decided to plan an unexpected trip to WDW in order to take advantage of the DDP.

Since I am not very familiar with the DDP I have a couple of questions that i am hoping someone will be able to answer:

1) Can 2 people use 1 TS voucher and share the meal? For example could my husband and I go to Planet Hollywood and use 1 voucher and just share the appetizer, entree and dessert?

2) Are there limitations to what you can order at the restaurants when using the dining plan? I noticed that some restaurants have $30 or more entrees and I was just wondering if there is anything (other than alcoholic drinks) that are not included in the DDP.

3) Can you order a soup or salad as an Appetizer or does it have to be an extra appetizer?

Thanks in advance for your help, I am feeling very overwhelmed with all of the wonderful food options.

There is a separate forum for the Dining Plan and a FAQ that answers a good number of the questions you're likely to have about the plan.

The forum can be found here: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=116

The FAQ can be found here: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=16079998

There is no clear answer for that. First, Disney's guest communications is very consistently communicating the message that "sharing is not allowed on the Dining Plan." By contrast, it appears that most if not all of the restaurants are waiving that rule for most if not all of their guests. The best answer we can give is, "most likely you'll have no problem with that, but don't be surprised if things change between now and then."

If you're are able to do as you suggest, please be sure to provide the server an additional gratuity. ($3-$4 extra per diner not ordering their own meal is a good rule of thumb for 1TS meals.)

2) Are there limitations to what you can order at the restaurants when using the dining plan?
There are isolated limitations at a few of the dozens of restaurants. The FAQ, mentioned above, lists all the limitations we know about.

3) Can you order a soup or salad as an Appetizer or does it have to be an extra appetizer?
While there may be a few exceptions, the answer is generally "yes". Do note that "entree salads" cannot be selected as an appetizer.
