I have to decorate my son's second grade classroom door for February and I just can't come up with any cute ideas besides the normal valentines/hearts. Please give me some ideas! I want to put all the kids' names somewhere on it. I have a cricut to help with this mission. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, this is still the same "heart" idea, but one year when I was a counselor at a middle school (I'm now at a high school), we did a huge sign that said, "My Heart Belongs To (name of school)" and then had each student write their name and what they loved best about the school on a heart. They loved it, and they were "tough" middle schoolers! ;)

1. Presidential silhouettes? For president's day.

2. Last year during Kindergarten, my son had to decorate his own valentine box and we made a train wrapping around the box using hearts for the cars.

3. Red things without using hearts...red roses, red tulips, train cars, cars

4. Ground hogs... or a wooded scene with a Ground Hog looking at his shadow.
The kids names could be on leaves or branches of trees with the Ground Hog named for the teacher.

Good Luck!!

Ooh, cool! I didn't see that!! YAY for Tennesseeans! I'm in East Tennessee. . .where are y'all?

we might be neighbors! I'm in Chatt-town.

Thanks for the ideas. I knew I would have to use hearts - I just wanted a creative way to use them. I had thought about the "our hearts belong to..." but I was thinking the teacher, but I like the school idea better. Now, I'm just trying to incorporate that into the train idea, because I really like that!

I am from TN too!! I'm a preschool teacher and the thread caught my attention! I am always looking for bulletin board ideas! LOL! I am from Knoxville! Not far from either of you!!

I make hershey kisses for my bulletin board. I cut out the shape from cardstock then cover with tin foil and write the kids names on the little flag. The parents really like them!

Another Knoxville....west area. It's funny that "it's a small world....afterall"...:goodvibes

The train cars were "squished" down hearts--making them wider and shorter and then just black circles for the wheels. You can also do the engine and caboose with hearts. For the engine skew the heart to one side and then add a smaller one for the steam funnel. The caboose would be a "squished" down heart with a small one offset on the top of the heart.

Ok... that's about as clear as mud.
