I just purchased the Couzzle knofe, cutting pad and square template at Walmart on clearance. It looked like a great idea, but I am having trouble getting good results. I keep cutting into the template or not cutting deep enough. Am I just missing something or is this a common problem with Couzzles?

Practice with papers etc, hold the knife a little looser. I'm not the best at it either but I was finally able to get some to work.

My best advice is to make certain that your knife if perfectly upright not at any slant at all. I am a coluzzle freak and use the letter template almost daily. I have made a couple of knicks here and there, but for the most part no problems. I also find that I make sure the knife is deep into the mat without pressing hard (does that make any sense?). Good luck and enjoy. Coluzzles can open up a whole new world of ideas.

I also like my coluzzle, but it takes a while to get the knack. Have you got the knife the right way around, I had it upside down for a while.

I have lots of the Coluzzle templates and I just can't seem to get the knack. I thought it was me. Thanks for making me feel better. :D

Any suggestions about what is easiest to learn with? My first attempt was a wavy border and I think that was a mistake. I've also had trouble telling which way the knife goes. I'm thinking about putting a dot on the sharp side so I can tell easily which way to point it.

Any other tips would be appreciated. I want to learn how to use these, since I got a bunch for Christmas gifts.

try the circle one first, I think that's the easiest. And always pull the knife towards you, when I get to the bottom of the circle, I remove the knife, and start back at the top of the circle on the other side, rather than pushing the knife up the 2nd side.
