Help..Planning trip for '09 March or April

Hello Everyone!

Ok, we're planning a trip for either March or April of '09...Just not sure of extact dates yet.

Between banking and borrowing, i have 900 pts available.

Any pro's or cons to each month?

When does Disney start to advertise any special activities going on for those months?

Is there a better month to get a GV at SSR? If not, how about (2) two Bedrooms? (group of 12 or so going)

This is our first vacation as DVC members (SSR Home)... any other help or suggestions that could make our planning easier?

Oh...one last question.... How do i get the banner for SSR?

Since you are currently in the 11 month window, I would decide quickly on when to go. Then if you want a GV, I would book it ASAP.

I haven't stayed in a GV so please take that into account. But with 12 people, I would probably lean towards two 2 BR villas since it will provide more accomodation options.

If you can, avoid the weeks surrounding Easter - both weeks will be crazy busy in the parks and cost PREMIER season points.

We toured a GV at SSR and they're wonderful- like an actual home rather than a vacation villa! But I think only you can decide whether or not you'd be better off with 2- 2br's. That depends on the families involved and what their sleep and daytime requirements are. If you're planning any large group sit down meals in the villa, the GV would be the way to go. A 2br barely seats 6 adequately (well, I've never stayed at SSR, but that's my experience everywhere else besides maybe OKW).

I agree....BOOK ASAP!!! You are already well into the 11 month window for both months, and GVs could be gone by now at all but SSR and OKW. Since that is typically spring break time, it will be somewhat busy all the time, but our experience is that March is better than April (except this year when Easter was in March). Next year Easter is April 12, so stay away from the week before and after, and it wont be as bad as the wee of. That is also why I would pick March next year instead of April.

Well, finally booked.
We were able to get (2) two-bedroom units for March 13-21, '09. (dedicated)

Let the countdown begin!!
