We will be in disney when our oldest dd turns 16. Any ideas to help us make it extra special?

How about a dinner at the Coral Reef, with personalized menus and maybe a diver with a Happy Sweet 16 banner?

The menus are a sure thing; for the divers I think you have to luck into a time slot where no one has already requested one.

You can arrange either or both once you have ADRs and a confirmation number.

Or... here's info on having a cake delivered: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1173219
Note that the start of the thread is several years old; the end will probably include current pricing info.

My BIL is celebrating his 16th this week at the World. He wanted to eat at Cindy's Royal Table the night of his birthday.

That's the first place we ate on his first night during his first ever trip to WDW. It's like that's where all his Disney Dreams began, so whenever we have something special to celebrate, that's where he wants to go.

I have to change our ADRs because originally she had decided she was going to stay with her other mom (I am step mom) for her birthday and not go to Disney with us. Now she has decided that she is going on vacation. Currently we have the Yatchman's Steakhouse for the night of her birthday. Would that be a good place for her to celebrate her birthday. Two years ago we did her birthday at O'Hana.
I also have a question regarding cakes. The cake we got at O'Hana was not good at all. Are all the cakes the same? We just got a round cake with Mickey on it. It just did not taste good at all.
My dh was thinking of taking her to BBB for a princess makeover. (she is still a little girl at heart) and really hinted at wanting to do it last year.

I don't know if you could use this IN Disney, but this woman Nancy makes these awsome topiaries of Mickie, Minnie, Dumbo, etc. Maybe you could have it waiting for her when she gets home, and it can stay in you garden for years to come! Heres the link:

The morning of her 16th birthday, I took my dd for a surprise Segway Tour, perfect and special because you have to be 16 to do it. She loved it!! So did I!! Later in the day we (the whole family) had lunch at Chef's de France (her pick) and they treated her very well for her birthday. I had a glass of champagne with lunch to celebrate too. Good luck!

Great idea. I am going to run that one by my dh. I think dd would love it.

When we were there in June my oldest DD turned 16. She had designed tshirts for all of us with little Mermaid characters on them that said "but <insert family member name here> I'm not a child, I'm sixteen." Of course my DH had Triton and the correct line from the movie.

Here she is in her Ariel shirt. She also had six birthday buttons in various languages. We got many compliments on her shirts, and Ariel asked her if she had met her prince on a ship while we were eating at Norway.
