I am in my early stages at planning for our 11/08 trip. On the "Resorts" message board, someone recommended that I ?rent? points for a DVC unit since we would like a suite due to our 9-y-o son being in a wheelchair and having two other children as well. What would be my steps to take for this process? Do I first decide when and where I want to stay and then post that to the renter's message board to see what is available:santa: ? I want to get the best deal that I can, and I'd like to see what opportunities are available to me.

Also, what is "concierge" versus regular rooms that I am reading about? We have stayed at BWV once in 2002 and loved it, but we booked through a travel agent.

Thanks for your help.:santa:

The only conceirge rooms for DVC are at AKV. They have the same service as the CRO conceirge.

With a family of five you will need a 2BR at any of the resorts except AKV which will sleep 5.

The difference between DVC and CRO is that DVC tends to book faster earlier. If you are looking at November 2008 understand that booking has already opened up so you really need to decide where you wish to stay now and still be a bit flexible.

Not sure when in November you are looking at but BCV and BWV will be tough to get if you do not reserve pretty soon during F&W.

You need to decide the size of room you want and look at the point charts to see the amount of points - the 1BR AKV will be your least costly route although OKW 2BR will probably not be too far behind. There are virtual tours of the rooms so I suggest taking one it will really help you make your decision.

Once you know what you want just post on the Rent Trade board. I highly suggest working with someone with references for trades. It may cost you a bit more but it s well worth it. At the time of booking you need to give the owner the requirements you want like Handicapped Accessible or Dining Plan or even requests such as top floor by the elevator.

What is CRO? (All the abbreviations are a little confusing) At AKV, what are concierge rooms? What does that get you over a regular room? Are any of the DVC options on the monorail line? That is so much easier for us than the buses with the wheelchair just for ease and time. Thanks for all your help.

CRO= Central Reservations Office (the regular cash Disney reservation line)

There are currently no DVC resorts on the monorail lines.

A concierge room is basically a suite with a "personal assistant" you share with other concierge room guests. The concierge will make your dining reservations for you, turns down your bed, has snacks, beverages and Continental breakfast available in a lounge that is adjacent to the suites.
