Please help me with any suggestions to help plan my daughters 8th B-day in July. We are staying at Ft Wilderness in a cabin. We are doing just relaxing, and water parks this trip. We could visit any resort, but we are not doing the parks. What have you done to make a day special?? :hippie:

My DD is 7 and she'll be going to the Mad Hatter's tea party at the Grand Floridian. Maybe this is something your daughter would enjoy. :)

You could also do a package at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Botique. She'll get her hair and makeup done, and if you purchase the high-end package, she can dress up as her favorite princess. What a great birthday present!

Be sure to have them put her Birthday on your reservation. They should give her a birthday pin to wear. Alot of cast members will recognize and wish her a happy birthday.

I can't imagine coming all the way from IL and not doing any parks! You could do the princess tea at the GF, although it is pricey. The HDDR show would be a great place to have dinner on her birthday. It is a fun show and good food, too.

I too cannot imagine coming from Il and not do any parks, but to each his own. I think that is great that you are celebrating her Birthday there! What would be better than that? I agree that BBB is an awesome 'special' thing you could do for her BD. If not going to the parks you can go to the BBB in DTD. Have a great time!

We just celebrated my dd's 8th birthday there in January. I called ahead and ordered a dalamation cake (her favorite) to be delivered to our room on her birthday...and I asked concierge to leave some towel animal dogs in our room that day. She was SO surprised when we came back from the parks. While wearing her birthday pin, she was given a mickey ice cream sandwhich and a cookie....the cm's just called her over, gave them to her and said Happy Birthday. A bunch of people in the Jammin Jungle Parade at Animal Kingdom stopped to say Happy Birthday too. We brought a Webkinz with us for her birthday....but you could order a basket (or bring one) with her favorite things.

CM's can dial a number and your child can get a special birthday message from Goofy (I think)
