I'm not sure if this is the thread for this but Im planning a Trip for 6 woman next May 08.

Just wondering where do I even begin!!! :guilty: (and I even feel I know ALOT about Disney)

Help what did you do to start:

Just some questions for right now

1. For 6 woman would you suggest 2 connecting rooms or a 2 bedroom villa

2. Should we do the dining plan????

3. Which Resort the Boardwalk or the Beach Club ( We all agreed we want to stay in the EPCOT resort area)

Also would you suggest when I do make reservations I do it through disney or a travel agent

THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP!!! I NEED IT :goodvibes

I would reccomend looking into the 2 bedroom villa renting points will be a much better way of going. Then if you want you can still add teh dining plan to your reservation through your DVC rental. I wouold reccomend renting points for this than trying to go through CRO it will be much cheaper.

Unforutantely I am not a DVC member will I still be able to "rent points". Do you happen to know how much a villa would be per night??

Sorry for all the confusion I am new at the group planning stuff...can you tell???:goodvibes

I would choose two rooms (you can request connecting but may get adjoining) because financially that would be cheaper at a Disney resort than a two bed villa (unless renting points).

Renting points is a good deal but takes some trust and reasearch.

Have you looked into the Swan and Dolphin? They are definitely in the area you want as well as the Y&B Club and Boardwalk.

I love that whole area down there!

What about staying at Port Orleans? Two rooms there would save money and you could boat down to Downtown Disney for some adult fun.

We've worked directly through Disney both times and had no problems. I think it's a matter of personal preference. Some people know GREAT travel agents that they work with regularly for their trips.

Take Care!

Actually you can look at the DVC section on this forum to find out lots of info on renting DVC points from members. Itis very easy and very economical plus you can still get the dining plan if you so desire.

1. If you're familiar w/ renting points try the villa. I would suggest 3 rooms = 3 bathrooms and you don't have to worry about sharing beds. Your own bed will be important as the days go by.

2. Depends on the 6 females. Yes I would suggest the dining plan to me it's just easier and well worth the expense. I suggest presenting it to your friends and those who want the dining plan could stay in the same room and get the dining plan and those who care to do it out of pocket could share a room w/out the dining plan.

3. I haven't stayed at either of these but the Boardwalk looks GREAT! However if you're up for a park outside of Epcot you might want to try CSR.

Thank you everyone for your help.

I actually called Disney and got a quote on how much a 2 bedroom villa would be.

For a full week the 2 bedroom villa would be $1010.00 a person (may be a little more for 2008 that was 2007 pricing) as compared to 2 standard room being a two dollars difference at $1008.00 a person...

I guess I didnt feel that the price was 2 unreasonable because this past may it was just my boyfriend and I and the room was almost double that for 2 people for a standard room. and im assuming ( and hopefully i am right) the 2 bedroom villa will give us more space??

I know we could save alot more money staying at the OKW or SSR but we kind of have our heart set on the EPCOT resort area...

You will have MUCH more space in the 2 bdrm villa. I would look into the DDE and opposed to DDP. Disney Dining experience gives you 20% off at most restaurants on Disney property and you also get 20% off on alcohol too. If you like the Boardwalk area you should stay there. I have stayed at both BWV and BCV, love them both.

I will def look into the Disney Dining Experience. Considering its a bachelorette party we may be drinking a little
;)

has anyone had to deal with certain people only staying for 5 days as oppose to staying for a full week..How did you deal with this and split things up???

I love the Epcot Resort area, it is my favorite place in the World to stay.
The 2 Bedroom Villas are awesome. The Master bedroom will have a King size bed, the 2nd bedroom will have a Queen size bed and a double sleep sofa and the Living Room will have a Queen size sleep sofa.
So some of the ladies will get a bed and some will have to sleep on a sofa. Will that matter to anyone?
The villas include a small entry way, a fully stocked full size kitchen with all cookware, dishes etc, and a breakfast bar, a small Dining Area with table and chairs, a Living Area with a sofa and chairs, a patio or balcony, a Master Bedroom and 2nd bedroom, a whirlpool tub off of the Master bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a stacked washer and dryer in the unit.
I would choose the Beach Club Villas. We love it there. There are no "Wow" views at the BCV, but it is an easy 10 minute walk to Epcot and a nice 20 minute walk to MGM. Or you can take a boat to either park. At the BCV you have access to Stormalong Bay, the best swimming pool on property. It is like a mini water park.
If you are going to rent points from an owner, you want to do your research and make your request early on.
Have a great trip.
