Okay, here's my issue: I booked the Princess Storybook Dining our 1st day at Disneyworld at noon. Well, that's in Epot and I want the 1st thing the girls (4 and 2 yrs old) see of Disneyworld is the Majic Kingdom with Cinderella's castle. We plan on getting there at 8:30am (we're staying at Westgate Lakes offsite). My questions is, how much time do I need to give us to get from the Majic Kingdom to Epot's Norway restaurant?
I think we need to be at the restaurant 15 minutes early so we need to be there no later than 11:45am.

I wanted to follow the itenerary in the "Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" I'm just trying to figure out how much time I'll need to get from Disneyworld to Epot. And I assume we'll have to drive to Epcot or can we take the monorail over there? I haven't been to Disneyworld since 1991 so I'm clueless.

TIA,

Sarah

Everything I've read says give it 1.5hrs of travel time. Its a little easier switching from MK to Epcot though because you just get off one monorail and onto another. I would still allot at least an hour to transfer from the Magic Kingdom to Epcot.

Take the monorail from Magic Kingdom to Epcot, it'll be faster than driving. And I would say to leave at least an hour to get from Magic Kingdom to Akerhaus in Epcot. You have to talk through a bunch of Epcot to get to the restaurant.

You haven't got that much time in Magic Kingdom between opening and having to leave, so you may want to pick a few "must ride" attractions and shoot to get them in rather than following the guide for this short amount of time. Just take a look at the map of the park on the WDW website and choose them based on where they are located. For example, you could hit Small World, Peter Pan's Flight and The Scary Adventures of Snow White all pretty quickly.

Have fun!

Just something to think about-what about switching your Princess lunch to a a different day? Or booking CRT for lunch instead? Once your kids see all of the rides at the MK-are they going to give you a hard time about leaving? I agree that you should give yourself an hour and a half at the least to allow time for both monorails and the walk through Epcot. Plus, if you go back to the MK after breakfast, you are losing 3 hours and it is a lot of walking for the kids.

Honestly, I'd change your plans. Either skip the Princess Storybook lunch or go to Epcot that day. Hopping can take a long time and is a big pain just for lunch. It's esp. difficult if you have kids in tow. I'd see if you can book the Storybook lunch on a different day when you plan to be in Epcot or try to get ADR at CRT. I just don't hop for lunch. We do usuallly get park hoppers but use them in the evening for dinner or fireworks, etc.

I agree. Try to reschedule the lunch.

Going to Magic Kingdom for a few hours and then leaving is like taking the wrapper off a Mickey bar and only eating one ear. It will be torture to leave the rest behind!!!

Once you get those girls in MK, it is going to be almost impossible to get them to leave and go to Epcot, even for Princesses. We tried to hop for a 12:30 meal at Epcot at our 2nd day at MK on our last trip, and the 3 year old (who absolutely loves Epcot) didn't want to go. I wound up having to call Disney Dining trying to find a later reservation time (luckily we were able since it was not a princess meal). I would try to change your plans if at all possible.
