OK, so if I purchase my tickets from Ares or Getawaytoday, I'll have a printout. Then, I have to take that printout to the actual ticket counter in order to get my tickets, is this right? Does this mean that MM on the first day is out? What about getting there for the rope drop on that first day? Can someone help me? I am SOOO confused. :confused3

If you buy your tickets through Getawaytoday, you do not get a voucher or printout. They work like an e-ticket. You take your ID to the ticket booth and show your ID to the CM there and they look you up in the computer. They issue the tickets and you take them to the turnstile and go into DL. (or CA) You can pick up the tickets the night before you go the Park, they aren't validated until you go through the turnstiles the first time. I didn't know you could pick up the tickets before you wanted to use them the first time we went. So we waited in line a while to get them. They print out each individual ticket while you wait, and while this is a relatively quick process, if you are anxious to go into the Park, it will seem to take forever!

If you pick up your tickets on a MM, you will waste a lot of time in line, just to go in. I don't think the ticket booths are open in enough time to really utilize MM. You might be able to make rope drop for the regular opening time, but you will be way in the back of the crowd.

Well, that will work as we are arriving on Saturday afternoon, but not going to DL (we will have driven through from Portland) so we could get the tickets that day. How late are the ticket booths open? We thought of napping when we arrived, then going to Downtown Disney to poke around after dinner. We could get the tickets then, to be ready for Sunday morning. If we get two MM, I think we'll use them for our two week-day trips and just get there at rope-drop on Sunday and Friday.

What about ID for the kids. Do they need it?

You'll need the ID for the person who ordered the tickets. I think using the MM for the weekdays is a great idea! I believe the ticket booths are open until around quite late, depending on when the park closes, so that plan will probably work out. If you were staying on-site, the hotel would print out the tickets for you.

I think I read the ticket booths are open until an hour before DLR closes. If you make the ressies in your name, you need your ID. When I did it the first time I forgot I made the ressies in DH's name, so when I went to pick up the tickets at the booth, they didn't have them!!! (Just a little panic! :scared1: ) So then, I asked for them in DH's name and they had them, he just had to stop hanging with the kids and come show his ID!! So, just make sure you put them in the most convenient name. I hate taking my purse to DLR with me, so I always jut carry a little cash with me. DH is the official holder of all things monetary, since he always has his wallet on him. It just works out better for us that way.

Also, getawaytoday is really great about guarantees and that kind of thing. We have used them for hotel and tickets and they have always been really, really great. I have called them about small glitches and they have always handled everything with great customer service.

ok i have a question ordering tickets getaway today.com but useing dads card not mine. will my id still be fine since i will say its my name that they are for?

If you buy from Getawaytoday and you are staying at one of the three Disney hotels, you can get your tickets from the front desk when you check in. Not all the castmembers at the hotel seem to know about it but when we checked in I asked. The CM wasn't sure but he went in the back where they get the tickets and asked and came out with our tickets. Worked great and avoided another line!!

Jade, you would have to ask. As far as I know, they need the ID and credit card that was used for the purchase....

Jade, they don't need the credit card. Just the ID. When I called last year to set up our trip, for 3 families using 3 different cards, they were really helpful. I just put all of the parkhopper tickets in my name to pick up at the ticket booth even though everyone paid separately, I just picked up all 12 tickets. You can ask them specifically what you will need. I have used the internet and phone and they are both really easy. But, in your case, I think calling would be easier, because they can answer your questions right when you call and you don't have to wonder.

Thanks for posting this!!! I have to buy 1 ticket for DS3 this trip and since the rest of us have AP's was a bit concerned about when to pick up his ticket. I am so relieved to hear I can get it when we check in to one of the Disney hotels. Whew!!
