My dad left for Floriday a week ago and arrived safely. He's called a lot and sounds awful. He's very lonely and bored and has gotten a cold. He called a few minutes ago and told me to get my DS on a plane tomorrow am and send him down to bring him home. My dad drove. He said he is shaking and feels awful. I've begged him to go to the hospital but he won't. My dad drives everywhere alone but wants my son NOW! DS is 21 and out right now. I called my SIL and hopefully my brother will fly down with my son. I think it is too much responsibility for my son to drive with his ill grandfather 1100 miles home. My dad will never fly! I am scared to death right now because my dad never admits he isn't feeling well. How will he get home feeling that badly. He was supposed to be in FL until end of March. He was going to stay with us in Vistana the first week of March. Sorry for the rambling but I really am worried sick. I really do not know what to do.

I hope he is alright. I hope your brother can go with your son to get your father. I just said a prayer that there is nothing seriously wrong.

{{{HUGS}}} sweetie

I wish I knew what advice I could give you on this. I hope you all can work something out and that your dad arrives safely and can see a doctor to find out what is ailing him. {{{hugs}}} to you.

Sending you lots of PD and {{{HUGS}}}. I sure hope your Dad is fine and that it is nothing serious. I know the waiting until he gets home will be unbearable. We are all here for you. Please keep us posted.

Thanks for your kind thoughts. I just booked a flight on Spirit for DS and my brother. They leave at 7am and will be there at 9:35. My dad isn't making much sense and I can't wait til someone is there with him. My brother said he is making him se a doctor down there before they begin the drive home. I am sooooo glad my brother is going along.

Oh, I'm so glad your brother will be able to fly down with your son, and that your dad will be seeing a doctor before the trip home. I hope everything will be okay. Keep us updated, if you can. more (((((hugs)))))

Yikes. I understand why you are worried. :( Dads can be so stubburn. My best to him. {{{Hugs}}} to all of you.

Prayers and Pixie Dust for your Dad.

My Mom has been sick and it is so scary--I hate this role reversal that goes on as your parents age!:(

This is really important, you need to call 911 and they should be able to transfer your call to Florida. They need to send an ambulance to check on your Dad. If he's confused he could be very ill and not realize it. That's what medics are for, it's their job and they positively won't mind going if it turns out your Dad is really OK. Please, please don't take this lightly.

I'd agree with Cindy, if I understand correctly if someone isn't transported there would be no charge for the ambulance either. They will check his vitals and make sure he's doing okay.

PD & prayers that everything is okay.

Also agreeing with Cindy above, mom. Very important, could be serious, maybe not, but you would not want to miss a chance to intervene if it is serious. And not hard to do. My very best for him, and you. A prayer is with him. {{Hugs}}

I hope everything turns out okay. P&PD for you and your dad. *hugs*

I can tell that you're very concerned. I'm praying that everything will turn out alright and that you'll be able to be at peace.
