Help! Paper tickets vs RFID tickets vs Magic Bands

Ok, it's been a few years since I went to Disney and magic bands were not even around. Here's my situation: I have some paper tickets (no exp, water parks and more), some credit card type tickets (same, no exp, water parks and more), and I've just ordered magic bands for this summer. This trip we're going to Universal and Typhoon Lagoon only and then a Disney cruise. I know I need the magic bands for my room, but, should I take all the tickets with me and have them converted to RFID tickets (are those the credit card ones) or just take the paper tickets that have the days left on them? Do the RFID tickets have something different than the credit card type tickets? I just ordered a 7 day no exp from U Tourist and it looks different than the other "credit card" type tickets. I don't need fast passes or anything so I'm not worried about that... I am really confused...

1. I know I need the magic bands for my room, but,

2. should I take all the tickets with me and have them converted to RFID tickets

3. (are those the credit card ones)

4. or just take the paper tickets that have the days left on them? Do the RFID tickets have something different than the credit card type tickets?

1. You don't "need" MBs for even FP+ You can open your room door, get into the parks, make FP+ reservations, use FP+, charge to your resort, etc. using only RFID tickets.

2. You can, if you like. (It won't hurt to do so, and it's free.)

3. Yes. BUT-

4. Not every older plastic ticket is an RFID ticket. (All current plastic tickets issued at WDW ARE the RFID type, however.)

5. Current UT tickets ARE the RFID tickets.
So, if you want to make sure your tickets are RFID tickets, take them all.

6. You don't "need" MBs for even FP+ You can open your room door, get into the parks, make FP+ reservations, use FP+, charge to your resort, etc. using only RFID tickets.

I would take all tickets and have them converted to RFID.

It doesn't take long to do so might as well get them all done also, once they are converted you would be able to add them to MDE for future trips to schedule your FP+ in advance. otherwise you would only be able to schedule FP+ in the parks

Awhile ago, we had 10-day park hoppers converted to RFID. But, I don't want to add them to the Magic Bands because for our upcoming trip we will only be going into parks for 1 day and will still have days left on the tickets. After that, we probably will get FL resident annual passes. So, my thinking is that it is best not to have the 10-day registered to My Disney Experience so that if we get the annual passes, I don't want the days subtracted from the 10-day tickets (instead of the annual passes). Does that make sense?

Any thoughts? Robo?
