Help!!!! I am definitely in panic mode now! We are getting married June 25, 05. leaving on tuesday the 21st. I feel like there is no time for anything right now! We have no idea for music for the ceremony and neither of us have time to spend looking things up due to work schedules! we feel like we are babysitting our 70 guests because no one can seem to do anything on their own, we book their magaical express stuff, and there room reservations and we are sooooo overwhelmed, they want to know exactly what to do every step of the way. this would be ok if our guests appreciated it, our friends are very excited but all our extended families are doing is complaining about the cost, and the heat, and anything else they can think of, and it is starting to wear on my fiance and I as well as my parents who are paying for this! Just wondering if this happens often!? Any help/ ideas with ceremony music and also reception music suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! I am turning into bridezilla

I’m so sorry your guests are stressing you! I noticed that you posted another thread about sending out a guest newsletter. I think that’s a good idea—it will give your guests the information they need to get their own things handled. I don’t have mine here at work with me, but I will be happy to copy and paste what I mailed my guests for you when I get home. I would advise just trying as much as you can not to worry about their plans. Bottom line is it’s up to them to handle their own trips, not you. I’m sorry they are using you and aren’t even doing so with good attitudes.

As far as music goes, do you prefer to use Disney music or non-Disney music? I’ll post some song ideas for you as well.

yikes, you have alot on your plate, i recommend a massage at the grand floridian the moment you arrive. we are helping alot of our guests with plans too (over half have never been to disney) & we will be sending out guest newsletters with info on the big day & itiniary's for their stay with us (a group welcome dinner, bridal party event, day at the park, the wedding day) & travel information (airline phone numbers & prices, what to pack, business needs, medical fyi) if you have time to compile something like that or if alot of your guests have online start a free website with theknot.com & list wedding info & travel details. i could email me you a copy of ours to give you some help/ideas, just pm me. you could also ask your bridal party to help with your guest questions but i think a newsletter or website will really address most of your guest issues in one place.

as for music check out this link http://ultimatewedding.com/music/ there are suggestions for preludes, processional music, reception dance music, etc. like jesu joy of mans desiring by bach, the traditional wedding march, canon in d, come what may from moulin rouge. you could also use disney instrumental music like if i never knew you from pocahontas, when you wish upon a star from pinocchio or some day my prince will come from snow white.

best of luck with everything :wizard: & congratulations!

what kind of music do you need for the reception? are you looking for a wedding song or just songs to play during the reception?

as far as the music for the wedding is concerned, you can use just about any song that you would like for the ceremony. we did a lot of disney music during the ceremony. we had a cinderella medley of so this is love/a dream is a wish your heart makes when the guests were being seated. when the wedding started, we used Pachebel's Canon for the bridal party and my entrance. we did the rose presentation and used bryan adam's everything i do (i do it for you). we ended the wedding with When you wish upon a star.

as far as the reception, make a list, if you have time, of music you DO NOT want played at the reception. that's what I did. i told the DJ no rap music, no heavy metal, no loud screaming music. a good majority of our guests were older adults and we didn't want to scare them half to death with certain types of music. if you let the DJ know the age ranges of your guests, the DJ will surely know what type of music to play.

i hope this helps you out. good luck. if you need any more help, you know where to find it.

Thank you so much everyone! your help is greatly appreciated. we are calmer already! for the ceremony disney instrumental stuff is great, but we are trying to not be too "disney" for the reception. we are having the hardest time with a first dance song, its hard to believe we have been together for about 9 years and have no song of our own!!! i also need a father daughter dance song, and a groom and mother dance, and a song for everyone to walk in to! ahhhh :rotfl: thanks again, keep it coming! :rotfl:

Not sure if you've heard this one but it's the one I intend on using for my father/daughter dance... It's called Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlyle (I think).
It's pretty popular at weddings, but it's a sweet song and talks all about the love a father and daugther share thru the years. :flower:

Hi, I am glad things are a little calmer. Unfortunately, you really only have the time to send e-mail notes to everyone about scheduling. From my experience the ones who can read e-mails are not the problems as far as needing directions....

Seriously, I would open a word processor and type in all of the events with the time and place. I would then cut and paste them into the correct order.

Next, I would add to that the phone numbers for the airlines and the resorts. Also Mears if they will need transportation to and from the airport. If they are bringing more than 3 people in a group cabs are cheaper...) Also 407-WDW-DINE and 407-WDW-PLAY for extra recreation.

I would then put the parks and their hours down.

Pretty it up a little and E-maik it to all who are able, and put a copy in the welcome bags (that you send to each room)

Next, I would find a Neice (or Nephew or friends child that loves Disney) buy them a passporter, and let them tell all of the adults about the special things going on at WDW. They can't deal with problems, but they can certainly direct adults to the fun activities.

Unfurtunately, for the adult activities you may have to find someone willing to take pity on you and field those calls. Again, I would buy a couple of people passporters...

Music for the reception? My first dance with RRBB was to Promise. It was from the millinium celebration, but is the "Kiss Good Night" in Illuminations. I would recomend it; Since time is an issue, PM me and I will tell you where you can find a snippet online...

Click on the name of the person you want to send to, and that will give you a dropdown box. One of the options is send a private message.

I am sorry i do not know how to PM? Can someone help?

I sent you a link in an E-MAil. I figure that is better than a PM.

I bet you like the song...
