Help,our Tv Just Died

Can anyone suggest where we can look to get a good price on a projection TV?
We cant spend a load of money on one.Our quarterly taxes were mailed off today.

Budget? Size preference? DLP, LCD, or don't know/care? This will help you get started. If you like the flexibility of returning in the event that you don't like it, I'd suggest a local Best Buy or Circuit City, just don't expect them to know very much about the TV. They also have price matching policies, so that if you find it cheaper, you can still buy from them. If you get the extended warranty, make sure that it includes replacement lamps. The lamps will burn out over time (like 5000 hours) and they cost anywhere from $150-300. I'd also suggest local home theater shops, but be aware: they likely work on commission, and the prices will be higher, but so will the quality and knowledge of the products.

FWIW, we just bought our Sony 42" LCD Projection TV back in October for $1900 after taxes at Circuit City.

If won't just a regular TV. go Wal-Mart and they 27 inches for under 200.00 dollars.

I will not spend more than that on a TV until they make change from analog to digital and that don't suppose to happen unitl 2009 last time I heard.

The will have come down alot for me be able to afford HDTV, DLP, and LCD TV's. I am talking about under 400.00 dollars or less.

Current TV's that have the HDTV tuner built in, will work after the analog shutdown without extra equipment. I've also heard that you will be able to get a digital-to-analog converter, so that the current non-HDTV sets will work after 2009. Not 100% sure on that though.
