Hi everyone,
I'm new here, basically because I'm desperate for some opinions!

My future husband and I are booked to stay at the Polynesian for our honeymoon in October 2015... aside from renovations, do you guys think this is a good honeymoon resort? If not, what would you suggest?

We stayed at All Star Movies Oct 2013, and AKL May 2014

Thanks everyone!:cheer2:

I'm personally a big fan of the Polynesian and think it can be very romantic. My fiance and I stayed there this summer and really enjoyed it. You can sit together on the beach and watch the fireworks together, share a late night drink and sushi snack at Kona cafe, and it's nice just walking around the area as the hotel is well themed and decorated. We stayed in regular rooms at the time, but there are some lovely suites available as well if you want a fancier room.

It's also very convenient for transport to Epcot and Magic Kingdom, so we could rest at the hotel longer and then go to our dinner reservations at our leisure.

That's exactly what we were thinking, some people had suggested the AKL, but we just recently stayed there, so I was looking for something new, and was hoping for something on the monorail as well.

Thank you!

Just keep in mind the construction - not sure how long it's going to be going on or if it still is, but they're doing construction on the lobby and the pool and not sure if the villas will be done. Might want to research it just so you're not surprised when you get there. Otherwise, beautiful resort and a short walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC).

I love the Poly! One of my favorites.

Keep an eye on the renovations - right now, I think they are at the height of chaos at the Poly but you are going more than a year from now so I would think that it should be much better.

But if you decide along the way that you would prefer to change resorts consider BWI with the courtyard rooms. They have a 2 story suites that has a small picket fence out front - really, really cute.

Just got back from my honeymoon and wouldn't change a thing, my wife and I stayed at Boardwalk Villas and loved every minute of it. That being said, we went to hang out and grab a dole whip at the Poly and I remember thinking "wow this is the least noisy and most peaceful resort I've been to" so I think you can't miss. It's gorgeous and relaxing. Congratulations!

One last thing, my wife and I went parasailing at Sammy Duvall's (located at the contemporary boat rentals) it was spectacular. Worth the splurge and loads of fun. Great views of Magic Kingdom from 600 feet. Just a tip!
