It seems like I've been planning this trip forever. I still have to figure out what to do on rides with the kid swap. We have 2 DDs 2 and 5. My 5 yo is just 40 inches and I hope will be able to ride most rides. My 2 yo is much too short. I don't want us to separate during most rides if possible. Are there things for little ones to do while my Dh or I ride. We want to ride Soarin', Test Track, and Mission space, TOT,RnR and Star Tours. Dinosaur. BTMR and Splash Mtn. Are there paly grounds or other things we can do close by any of those attractions?

Splash Mountain and Mission Space have play areas. I guess they could use the play area near Splash Mountain while someone's on BTMRR. Also, Space Mountain has an arcade. All the others have shops associated with them. Soarin is inside the Land, and there is plenty to do there. Hope this helps.

There's no way I would put a 5 yr. old, even meeting the height requirement, on Dinosaur. The Boneyard right next to it is more appropriate.

I meant that my husband and I want to ride these rides. I don't think my DD would like Dinosaur at all. Both of my daughters are afraid of the dark to an extent. I'm not sure about the other rides for my 5 yo, but I'm just trying to figure a plan. Thanks for the warning about Dinosaur.

Usually I just walked around with DD3 , maybe found a quieter spot on a bench, maybe had a snack or ice cream, or went looking in stores if they were nearby.

On the left side towards the "back" of space mountain there's a seldom used walkway that will take you right into ToonTown where you could hang out till the others' are done riding.

In Epcot by Test Track & Mission Space we usually just wandered around in the general area. I remeber there being a spot where she could run around a bit on the grass, get out of the stroller and stretch her legs some

The only place where I was starting to run out of things for her was when they were riding ToT and RnR. There's some stores and an food eating area, I think we just bought some fruit and sat down there.

Plus I would try and time some of these rides when she would be napping in her stroller.

If they're afraid of the dark, then yes I would skip dinosaur, although my DS was 6 and loved it when he went. But then he did ToT, SM, and RnR so he's a bit of a daredevil. I wouldn't have been able to get my DD on those when she was 6.
The dig is terrific, but try to time it in the morning. that area of the park is REALLY hot in the middle of the day. Dinosaur does have a really neat gift shop too.
