When we were there before you got shrimp on the skewers and pineapple and caramel for dessert. We just looked up the menu on Allearsnet and its changed. Is this still true? It hasnt been updated since April.
Yes but another thread said something about more changes to come like bringing back old favorites in Oct?? dont know how substatiated these rumours are you might want to do a search on ohanas and go back a few days.
Yes, very true. I didn't know this either and had my after-wedding dinner at 'OHANA. We were shocked to get ALL different food and a different dessert. The good thing...it's A LOT more food, more options, and a "real" dessert. I actually was very pleased with the new food choices and the food was AMAZING! You won't be dissappointed!
Many of the restaurants cycle through menus, and changing of menus over time is pretty common, to adjust to changing tastes, to adjust to changing market conditions, and to provide the chefs some variety. Some menu items do come back though. It's always interesting to see what choices you'll have when you arrive at the restaurant -- it is best to look at it as an opportunity to try something new, rather than to count on the same things always being available.
You still get plenty of shrimp and they are able to put more of the marinade/sauce on it now. We think the bread pudding is far better than the pineapple. We had been on several occasions when the pineapple wasn't ripe yet and we wound up not eating it.
Yes, do give it a try. We had been there several times before the changes and approached with some reserve at the changes. But change can be good. The shrimp are tastier and messier than before. The only change that I wasnt crazy about is substitution of potatoes for rice. Its an asian inspired meal, you gotta have rice! The bread pudding is yummy but I miss the pineapple as its a light dessert and after that big meal, you need something light. Go and enjoy!
I am very excited about trying the new menu out on my bday! Just 22 more days!
I will miss the big grilled shrimp, my DD ate two plates of these and she never eats seconds on anything besides dessert, lol.
Go and enjoy! We have eaten there with the old menu and the new menu - change is good! I was the only one in my family eating the shrimp and I like the new shrimp more. We also enjoy the new dessert - which everyone digs into.

I don't know, but it sounds like the work of the DDP Bandit He has been know to snatch the favorite recipes at some of the WDW restaurants. He was last seen lurking around Olivia's. Keep an eye out for him!
