Hi me and my husband has just booked our first ever trip to dlp we are going 14th november by eurostar staying in the santa fe for 4nights and 5 days, our children are both girls eldest will be her 6th birthday while we are there and the youngest will be 3 about 10 days before we go.

So im on here to ask for help/hints/tips while in there what to see, whats best for childrens ages and what to do about food while in there. We dont have alot of money to take with us, we've heard mc'ds is cheap but dont want to eat there all time so whats good at a decent price???

What shows are good that are free if any and whats worth paying for??

All help appreciated xx

I think mods will probably move this to the main board, but I'll post anyway!
Welcome to the forum, and congrats on booking your first trip. I'm sure you'll find lots of answers here.
To answer your food question, Annette's is a firm favourite which offers very tasty food and is not too expensive. If you would like a character meal (these are great!) Cafe Mickey is good. It is not that cheap but the portions are big and if you were to share you wouldn't have to spend too much, and would get a great character experience.
See the websites www.dlpfoodguide.com and www.magicalkingdoms.com for menus and prices.
Shows are a bit thin on the ground these days unfortunately - all of them except the Buffalo Bills Wild West dinner show in the Village are free. Because you are going in Christmas season there will be Mickey's Winter Wonderland which your girls will probably love, as well as a Rapunzel show, and the New Generation Festival show is on several times throughout the day.
In the Studios, there is Moteurs Action! A car stunt show that your husband will probably like lol I'm not into cars but I loved it, it's very well done.
There is a playhouse disney show, and Stitch Live which is great fun, along with Cinemagique and Animagique which are brilliant shows too.
You may want to search for disneyland paris or specific show videos on YouTube it is a great way to learn about the parks, and gets you in the mood for your trip!
As well as shows, there are also parades: The once upon a dream parade at around 5pm each day, and the Fantillusion parade later on, near park closing time. In the studios there is the Stars n Cars parade.
You will probably have lots of questions - the best thing to do might be to start a new thread for each topic :goodvibes

Hello :goodvibes

Well my first tip is take at least one pushchair :-) even if your three year old is sick of them, I can guarantee they'll be so tired they'll need it even if it's taking it in turns for a sit down!

I think Annette's in the village is the cheapest place for a sit down meal. I could be wrong though.

As far as McDonalds being cheap - I seem to recall meals being around 10 euros - so actually extortionate by usual standards!

If you're staying on Disney property, you could always cheat and make yourself sandwiches up with the cheese/ham/bread that's on the breakfast buffet - I'm not condoning it, but I did see plenty of people do this on our last trip and stash them in their handbags :rotfl: we took food into the parks and it wasn't confiscated so if you're on a budget, maybe visit the supermarket and make packed lunches/dinners?

Have fun planning :cool1:

First of all congrats on booking your trip!

Santa Fe is basic but fine because you will not spend much time there. We have been going since DS was 3, but we drive so space is not an issue so some of this may not work for you.
We always take a travel kettle (though you can hire them) and some coffee and instant meals eg pot noodle as sometimes we are peckish when we get back to room. We also have some crisps etc, and small packs of sweets for diversion while waiting in queues. We also take a set of plastic cups and disposable spoons.

We always take a litre of blackcurrent juice to dilute as they don't have anything there like that, and we don't like ds having lemonade.

There is an Esso garage next to the Santa Fe and a shop in the station near the entrance to the park. Both do sandwiches, bread, drinks, snacks etc a lot cheaper than on the park. Make the most of breakfast. It can get very busy so do early breakfast if your kids are like to be awake (ours always is so we are at breakfast at 7am, nip back to the room to grab parks and there for opening). There are a range of food places at Val D'Europe which I have heard are reasonably priced but we have never made it that far!

Have a fantastic time!
