Help-- New to DL- Citypass question

I am considering getting a Southern California City Pass for our trip this summer. Is it possible to upgrade the ticket for 4 days in DL if we decide we want another day in the Disney parks?

My understanding is that you get $204 credit per adult ticket and $174 credit per child ticket (these are based on the 'at the park cost of the 3 day park hopper ticket). You can use these credits toward 4,5, or 6 day park hoppers (as well as Annual Passports) using the 'at the park' cost for those tickets ($229 per adult 4 day, $199 per child 4 day). You can find the prices for the other tickets at disneyland.com.
We plan on using the CityPass and upgrading to 6 days in June ($50 per person upgrade, child or adult).

Yes you can upgrade.

The most often used calculations I've seen is that they use the pre-purchase rate to credit you. Not the gate value. So I would go with the lower value, and be prepared to upgrade from there, just in case it's the pre-purchase rate...better to have more money and not need it, than have too little money and need more!

I saw the information on mousesavers.com and they have not done me wrong yet. They say that regular tickets are upgraded using the purchase price, but for the CityPass (i'm assuming since it's combined with three other attractions) Disney uses the 204/174 credit.
I just emailed Disney customer service with this question. If/when they send me an answer I'll post it here.
