I just love reading everyone's reviews...they've really helped me over the course of the last two months. :)

So here's the deal: I am going to Disney World with my boyfriend and his family (who go every year) next week (5/20-26). I went to Animal Kingdom about nine years ago (right when it was brand spanking new) and remember little else about the experience than my birthday celebrated at Rain Forest Cafe. It was my tenth birthday, so you can see some time has passed. ;)

Anyway, I was wondering if any of you could please give me some feedback on the restaurants, in particular, what to wear and what to expect. A lot of websites say "casual" or "business casual" but I think we all have different ideas as to what qualifies each term. I have plenty of outfits that fit into all categories, so the wardrobe isn't a problem; I just hate being over or under-dressed for an experience.

Here are the restaurants we have reservations for:

Jiko's
Primetime Cafe (lunch)
Yachtsmen Steakhouse
Artist Pointe
Victoria & Albert's
Rose & Crown Pub

Please, please, please, offer me some feedback and advice. During the day, we're hitting the parks (:yay: ) and at night, it's all about the food. I really appreciate anything you can tell me about the atmosphere, dress code, and food--though I've been reading a lot of the reviews for that tasty part.

Thank you so much. Can you tell I'm nervous and excited all at once?!?

Victoria & Albert's is a definate dress up location:

There is a dress code. Gentleman are asked to wear a dinner jacket with dress pants and shoes. (Ties are optional.) Ladies are requested to wear a cocktail dress, dressy pantsuit, skirt/blouse or nice dress. The following are not allowed: jeans, shorts, capris, flip-flops, sandals or sneakers.)

Rose & Crown, and Primetime:

You can feel comfortable here in almost anything, you will see most customers in shorts and tshirts(typical theme park/tourist attire)

Yachtman Steakhouse:

Proper attire is business casual. Please no tank tops, swimming suits or swim suit cover ups, t-shirts, hats, flip-flop style footwear, or torn clothing in the dining room.

As for Artist Point & Jiko, I believe they are both under the "Resort Casual" category, but I know that for these locations sticking to the above "Business Casual" will make me feel the most comfortable.

Hope this info is helpful to you and I wish you a Magical, Fun Filled vacation!!!pixiedust:

Thank you! I'm so excited for this trip, you have no idea. I'm big about planning out every outfit--that way I know I have backup options in case I completely ruin one outfit. We're staying at Boardwalk Villas, though, and I know they have a washer/dryer, but still. I'm definitely an overpacker...but I'm not complaining. :-)

Thanks, TiggerDad3! That is already great help. I know what the websites say, but that means nothing in comparison to personal experience. That's the type of feedback I'm looking for, so thanks for that!

As far as what to expect for V&A, expect a SUPERIOR fine dining experience!! Be ready to try some "different" foods and to be pampered beyond what you can imagine!! It will feel a bit stuffy at first....go with it and join in the fun!!

V&A sounds really wonderful, engle. Although I haven't had many in my life, coursed dinners are so spectacular in the fact that you have a few different choices for each course...not so many that you can't make up your mind, but just the perfect amount. I'm really looking forward to it. I believe it's our Saturday night dinner reservation... :)
