Help! Never rented a car before!

We are driving to Orlando next month, and my mom and her huband are flying down to join us for a few days. They want to rent a car and have asked me to help them set it up, since they have never done it before. I haven't either, though, and I'm not sure where to start. They would like to get the best price possible and they would prefer to get it and return it at the airport. Any suggestions on who is best to go with and how to get the best deal for them? They are really scraping to come up with airfare, ticket prices, food money, etc. so we want to keep the cost as low as possible.

Start on Mousesavers http://www.mousesavers.com/rentalcar.html for some discounts. You basically need a name and address to book; and a driver's license and credit card to pay at time of rental. I find Alamo to have good deals overall, but it really depends on what you need. Shop around.
