I am stuck on ideas for my opening page for my recent vacation album since it just wasn't Disney this past trip, we did the dark side (Universal) as well!! :goodvibes So I wonder if I should make the opening page that just says spring break 2012 with a few of our favorite pics. Any advice?? I do not do a separate book for each park, but it will end up being 2 scrapbook binders when all the layouts are completed for this trip? Any one have any examples to show me?

(I always put aside daily scrapbooking for vacay scrapbooking because I enjoy it so much! So no worries, I am not caught up-LOL)

I like to start with pics of traveling - how about heading to FL for the title then pics in the car or luggage pics??

I do not have any pics of the car ride there or luggage. We left at 3, encounter a lot of rain, and then it got dark so I forgot about pictures. :rotfl:

it takes us 2 days of driving to get there
I usually take a pic of the luggage before it is put in the car
I have to get State Line pics

& pics in the car

better go with the Spring Break in FL for title - palm trees for embellies

Cover page or first 2 page layout?
If it's the cover page how about the title "Trip to the dark side" and maybe some maps, ticket, key card, etc.

How about a piece of map paper, showing your route, with photos on the sides of it? I did that for our 2008 spring trip from New York to Florida along the coast, and then home again on the backside of the mountains - 13 states, six weeks.

I finished up an 8x8 book recently that included lots of Florida stuff (Disney, Sea world, Kennedy Space Center and Sanibel). I went with a generic FL approach and a shot we took along the way:

Did you buy any postcards? You could do a title and then a postcard of each park that you visited. I've used a postcard for my opening page.

mom2rtk, I love that page!!

Last time we did a combo trip, DS made me a "Florida" title on the computer. Maybe you could have your kids draw something for the first page?

We did a so cal trip in 2008. Sea world, zoo, disney, universal. So i did a title page that just said 2008( did the mickey head with the zeros) California adventure. I do mine in seperate books. I'll snap a pic later.

Thank you! :goodvibes

And I do love the idea of having the kids draw something!

Thanks for the great ideas! I will let you all know what I decide when I feel inspired :rotfl:

BTW Cute Page!!! TFS :goodvibes

I love a good title page, but I also struggle sometimes to come up with a good idea. But here are a few things I've done......

One time I used a very small square punch and punched out a bunch of small photos that came as contact sheets when I ordered my prints. I used them in a grid design along with a large rectangle in the middle for tha actual factual title (the Smith's first trip to Disney, July 2008). It was tough to line up well, but ended up well worth the time it took.

Another time I used a bunch of leftover photos to create a full page size mickey head. You could pick another meaningful shape, since this wasn't just a Disney trip.

For my mother/son trip cover photo I picked my favorite Photopass picture of DS and I, cropped it in close, printed it in black and white, and used bright green rub ons to add the date.

I'll share pictues if you are interested..........P
