HELP! We are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary in August with dinner at V&A. I know it is jacket required for men. What do the ladies wear? I have an "evening gown" but I'm not sure I want to pack that and be THAT dressed up. I have a really nice pair of black "palazzo" pants but is that too UNDER dressed? Maybe an excuse to go out and buy a new outfit!!! :confused3

What do you ladies wear? What have you seen women wear? Thanks for any ideas you can give!

When I went in may, I wore a dark red simple cocktail dress. Most of the women in the place had some sort of cocktail dresses on, except for this one girl who showed up in a prom dress ( she looked like she was 30). If you have a simple black dress, that would be perfect.

Last summer we dined at V&A and I wore a summer skirt (lightweight) and a sleeveless sweater and a pair of high heeled sandals. I didn't see any formal wear. Some dresses, nice pants, etc. You'll be fine in something less formal than an evening gown.

I've seen women headed to V&A in long gowns so if that is what you want to wear go for it. Your pants would be fine too with a really dressy top. I usually wear a dressy pants outfit. For women, really anything dressy is fine.

Boy, I guess I used the word dressy three times too many but that about sums it up IMO. ;)

I say live it up and dress up! It is your 20th wedding anniversary and you should be like a prince and princess! princess: I would go formal! Walking through the Grand Floridian with all eyes on you, and you know they will be. People are always looking at people all dressed up and wondering where they are going. The mystery! I wouldn't make it about what everyone else is wearing, but about how you want to spend your evening and the memories you will make. Your pictures, if you take any, will look like wedding pictures all over again. I can understand not wanting to pack the dress, but it is up to you.

We went on the Disney cruise for our honeymoon and we had a romantic dinner on night at Palo. I wore a long black strapless evening gown with a sassy slit up the side. Black strappy heals and my "bing" jewelry. Later we strolled along the deck and there were people out by the pool, playing ping pong, etc. all casual while we were in formal attire! Didn't bother me one bit, although after while those shoes had to go! (Hubby carried them :cloud9: )

Mrs U often wears a nice pantsuit to V&A. Once in awhile one of those long skirts with a nice sweater. But you'll also see cocktail dresses, evening gowns, etc

I wore a black cocktail dress. Congratulations on your 20th. Today is my 19th anniversary! :cloud9: Yes, we're celebrating by going to a swim meet tonight. :teeth: The joys of parenthood.

 Hi ya'll

:woohoo: We finally got our reservations for V & A for our 20th anniversary dinner also (the day after); congratulations on your 20th also ! ! :thumbsup2

:artist: I plan on wearing an "A-Line above the knee length black beaded cocktail dress. It's formal, but not too......... (it has some colors to it); dang, I wish I had a picture of it. :thumbsup2 I bought the dress to wear on a cruise a few years back but the cruise ship was sold to a christian company, so we didn't get to go, conflict w/DH's schedule. So, now I have a dress to wear. Or.............like "vsimeone" said, I could use that as an excuse to go buy another outfit :woohoo: . DH can wear son's tux or his own jacket of choice.

Have an awesome dinner in August & congratulations again.
