Hi all!

We've only been DVC members for a year, so I need help from the experts!

My husband and I are taking a second honeymoon of sorts in November unexpectedly, and need to figure out where to stay. We already have our points used up on our family vacation for next May.

We'd REALLY like to stay at "home" at OKW, but can't figure out if DVC members can stay there on cash any cheaper than the general public.

I know I can maybe get a regular room discounted at one of the other resorts (using AP discount or Dis. Visa) but am really wanting to stay at home.

Anyone have any advice? Do I just call member services? We recently got an email about family or friends getting a discounted room at OKW or Saratoga, but it said nothing about MEMBERS getting the discount.

I appreciate any info you can provide. Thanks!!

Chris

Call MS to see if you can get a cash reservation during that time. It would be treated just like a points reservation. And if the discount is available, you could save 25% off the rate.

If MS doesn't have any cash availability, call CRO and make a cash reservation there. You'll be treated like any other non-MS reservation and get daily full cleaning, etc.

The way things are going, Disney might offer you a better deal for OKW with an AP or Disney Visa, than MS could offer. Granted, if it happens, it probably won't be released until a couple of months before the trip, but it's a possibility, so you could go ahead and make cash ressies now through MS, and see if a better offer comes up. When I called for cash ressies to HHI, I asked about the cancellation policy. I don't remember exactly, but I think it was, like, 6 days or something before the trip without penalty--then you accrue the first night's stay charge. (But, I'm probably wrong, so be sure to ask for yourself!)
