we saw at WDW last week for Christmas! There was a red one with Mickey and a 50th Anniversary Gold one. We saw it in the gift shop at the GF. I have no idea how much it was, but now am trying to figure out how to get it for him.

Does anyone know exactly what the train is called? The box was about 10 inches tall by 14 inches long. I think it had 2 pieces to it, the engine and maybe a caboose? It looked like the train that goes around the MK.

Thanks for any help!

You can call Disney Merchandise 407-363-6200 and they will ship anything to you for the cost of the item plus shipping.

What you are looking for is the "G" scale Walter E Disney train (it wouldn't hurt to say you are looking for the large train as there is also a smaller Walter that is made in N scale). They have the red one or the gold one in G scale so make sure you clarify which one you want. They are the engine, tender and some coaches... I want to say they run about $60 but they could be a little more (I bought mine so long ago I am not positive on the price).

If no one here can help, Iyou might try laughingplacestore.com and search there. They will purchase items from the resorts for you and then ship them to you. For a fee, of course! Just a suggestion and I've never used them so you may want to ask around. You'll hav eto hurry though because I think it can take a while.

Thank you. Do you know how much it is by chance? I didn't look at it closely, and now DS tells Santa it's the ONLY thing he wants!

Sorry added that to my post as you were posting.

Thanks. Now I just need to decide on red or gold! Any suggestions?

Red, only because it is the train that runs in the park... Just my opinion...

No pressure, huh, triplefigs! :rotfl2:

Good luck! I hope Santa pulls through just fine (and I feel certain he will)! :flower:

We bought the large scale 50th Anniversary Train back in September. We bought extra tracks and the total after having shipped to the house came in around $100.

DBF bought it for our Christmas tree. It is quite large, but it is wonderful. It has a working light, sounds and actually smoke coming out of the smokestack

My DMIL bought the red train set for DD back in 2000. We place it under our Christmas tree every year and DD loves it! Ours has 4 pieces - the engine car, 2 passenger cars, and a caboose. You place a few drops of 3-in-1 oil in the engine car's smoke stack and it puffs out little wisps of smoke. Also, you can turn on the sound of the train and the bell (it's kinda loud!). The set came with plastic figures - Mickey, Minnie (we lost ours unfortunately!), Goofy and Donald. It comes with pieces of straight and curved interlocking track pieces. (DMIL also bought some extra track but I don't think we ever used it.) Oh, and it takes 6 "C" batteries so make sure you have some on hand.

And don't you just love it when Santa's elves have all their work done and at the last minute your kids find something else that they just have to have? ;)

Don't know if you have already ordered, but I have a number that can get you right thru to M. Mercantile (at the GF) and I find if you call them directly things are easier and are shipped faster. Just PM me if you want the number. Good Luck!

we will be there this weekend. Let me know if you need some help with getting it. I would be happy to!

Hi, everyone! My DD has the stomach bug, so I haven't been on to post an update. I called DM at 9am yesterday, and they are sending the red train guaranteed delivery by Christmas Eve. Yea, Disney! Thanks again for the offers of help and all the info.

:) Thanks for letting us know. I am glad you were able to get it in time for Christmas :)
