Hi- I was hoping someone on this board may be able to help me/point me in the right direction. I'm currently working on my thesis, and one of the subjects of it is the Universal Orlando resort. I'm looking for a source that explains the history of the resort, preferably one that would be considered legitimate and academically acceptable, and I'm having a rather difficult time doing so. If anyone knows of any such sources and could direct me toward them, I would much appreciate it. Thanks!

A good spot to check/ask would probably be the Orange County Regional History center in Orlando.

They have a UOR Museum exhibit going on right now, so I'm sure they have something.

I think I'm going to head over on Sunday to see it. It sounds really interesting...especially the HHN stuff.

There's a conference / Q&A with a bunch of creative/imagineering types from UO, Disney and Sea World Friday (Tomorrow) evening that's open to the public (with fee) that you can register for there as well.

I looked at the Wikipedia page for USF and saw it had 84 references cited, mostly newspaper articles and Universal press releases. Pretty basic references to investigate. Seems that no one has written a big, comprehensive book on the subject. Not like Disney at all which must have 100s of books written on it so far. This is a great research subject to tackle. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely check it out! :)

Thanks! I had looked there before and didn't really think any of those sources would work for what I need, but after you recommended it I decided to take another look. After a second look I did find some sources I think I can use, particularly a few articles written about the park near the time it opened. So thanks again! Sometimes it takes another person to make you see things you missed before. :flower3:
